Tuvalu Longhouse at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort

The room had a broken closet. One of the days the shower lacked hot water. The provided conditioner dispenser barely worked. The views are great if you are on the water side. The Polynesian resort, once a golden child of the resorts at Disney, is no longer what it once was. Walk around the resort and you can see how the charm has been traded to extract more from the guests. There is a nice walkway to a hilltop with a bench, a spot that likely was once a prized spot to sit and enjoy the views, now you see floating shacks over the water, they look out of place, they need a paint refresh and obstruct all of the beauty that was once there. A beautiful resort with views of the seven seas lagoon. Upon check in we asked a cast member if possible for a Magic Kingdom view and we struck gold 🥰 Tuvalu building is a two minute walk to the river taxi and main lobby. We had the ground floor view which we preferred over first and second floor as they don't have a balcony just a sliding door but you are higher for viewing . A lovely area to sit in the evening and watch the electric water pageant and happily ever after. We had a duck visit us daily during the rain showers which was fun to see. We were apprehensive of being right next to the Grand Floridian DVC building work however we didn't hear the construction once. A bit sad and tired for a hotel that charges $550/night. Vinyl floors and cheap furniture are a step back in time. Thin walls and slow, cramped elevators also detract.
