Tru by Hilton Georgetown

This has by far been the best experience my family and I have had in a long while. Let me start by saying thank you to the staff at Tru Hilton! Ms Shirley, thank you for your warm spirit and holiday cheer! Breakfast was amazing and the beautiful decorations made it worth getting up and coming down for breakfast to start the day! Ms Leanna, thank you for the beautiful service and stopping a few minutes just to have conversation. Thank you to hospitality specialist in assisting my grandmother with the few essential items that was needed. The rooms were immaculate! If you happen to be in Georgetown, DE and need a place to stay please come here and you will understand and feel the difference that this entire staff brings to make sure the guests are taken care of! I stayed at the hotel for two nights, Dec 26 & 27, 2025 and there some things that if I had known would have made me stay elsewhere.||THE BED|I stayed in a King Bed Room and the sheets looked like they had not been changed since the previous occupant. When I asked about it at the desk, they said that they do not press the sheets after laundering them. That may be the case, but it still leaves the impression that they may not have been laundered, and who wants to begin a stay at a hotel by first having to peel off the comforter and sheets and pillowcases, looking for signs of another person? Very poor.||THE RESTAURANT|The website says that the hotel has an "On-Site Restaurant". It does not. The nearest source of food is a Chinese take away which is ~100 yards away across the car park. VERY mixed feelings about this place. Most staff members are very nice, but most are not. I get it that you can’t use whip cream for other stuff but pancakes but that’s stupid on a WHOLE new level. This is my first and last time here. Rooms are decent for about 4 people. No microwave, not big enough trash cans, and a tiny refrigerator. You may not agree with my personal opinion that I’m sharing and that’s okay. Do better please!!!!!! All the other hotels like Cambria have that type of stuff Tru does not. I found bed bugs in the sheets! I’m so disappointed yall better do something about this

The Tru is in a great location for the nearby baseball tournament facility. It has a Walmart grocery store and food choices next door. ||The hotel lobby is also perfect for team gatherings. Foosball, televisions, lots of sitting areas. We were able to watch Game 7 of the World Series with several teams. ||The fitness center is nice and has a good amount of equipment. ||Breakfast is nice with good offerings. The staff is friendly and helpful. ||The room was nice enough a bit cramped for the two of us. Some of the light fixtures were broken, like the red one on the wall next to the desk. Just dangling there. The bathroom door scraped against the floor making it almost impossible to close except about halfway.
