Travelodge by Wyndham Depoe Bay

I’m not sure how this is only a 2 star hotel. My stay was very enjoyable. It was exactly what I was looking for. I was in room 310, and while the room was small, it had all the amenities that I needed: a fridge, microwave, coffee maker, a large television and a fireplace. A perfect view of the ocean. I kept my sliding door open most of the time so I could hear the ocean waves. And although the traffic from 101 could be heard, it did not detract enough from the ocean waves to be annoying.

Positive: I really liked the view of the ocean from my room and the electric fire place. The room was very clean and well laid out. Negative: The outside doors for the hallway access to the rooms had no lock so anybody could have walked in. I was a senior female staying by myself in the hotel and this made me a little nervous.

Great value for the price, rooms were very clean and spacious. Location so excellent, walk to ocean and restaurants easily. Only complains was loud from other guests in the morning, not a lot of sound proofing and our fireplace didn’t work. It is right on the highway but you can see and hear the ocean and it wasn’t too busy for traffic. Staff was nice but it would have been nice if they had offered to try and help fix the fireplace when we called, instead they just said they would look in the morning and we were only there one night. Overall great value though and clean and good parking.

The spectacular views of Depoe Bay from our room on the third floor make this our favorite place to stay. The room is fine - seems newly renovated, is clean and the plumbing works perfectly. Service is modest - for example, coffee and cookies is all there is in the morning. But for those loving the coast for its views, this place is hard to beat.

We checked in after waiting a while for someone to come to the front desk. Room was on the bottom floor north side of building. “View” was mostly the road, buildings and tress with the ocean back there somewhere. Room smelled horrible. Damp. Dank. Musty. All the words. Definitely a pet room and my daughter is allergic. Room next door had a dog barking non stop. Asked for another room and they said they had none. My daughter couldn’t handle it so we had to leave and find a room elsewhere. I asked for refund as we were there less than 10 minutes. I got no apologies and no refund. Tried to work through hotels.com with the hotel and they refused. We messaged back and forth for a couple days and they refused to give me a contact for corporate Wyndham and offered no refund.
