Travelodge by Wyndham Clearlake

Reserved a room at Travelodge with my wife’s credit card on file. When I arrived, they refused to use it because she wasn’t present. I understand policies exist, but the front desk staff offered no help or alternatives, just attitude. I ended up having to use my debit card, which they charged for the stay and also placed a $100 hold for incidentals. After checkout the room charge posted, but the $100 is still tied up as a pending transaction. When I called the hotel to ask about it, the staff member who answered was extremely rude and condescending. Instead of explaining the situation or trying to help, they acted like I was bothering them for asking a simple question about my own money. First off the front desk man was so incredibly rude. Refused to acknowledge any concerns that I had and threatened to charge me for the room and not give me the keys. Then followed it with no longer addressing me, but would only address the male with me. When asking for an explanation in the price increase, he told me there was nothing he could do. Additionally when there was a note specifically written in the reservation that I would be paying cash my credit card was charged before I had even arrived to the hotel. Totally not worth the price.

I gave them 2 stars in lieu of 1 because the employee was very friendly. Look, let’s keep it real, no one, literally NO ONE stays at a Travelodge because you want a high quality place to stay. It was $66 a night. It’s a low end motel, in a low end city🤷🏿‍♂️. I had to switch rooms because the tv AND the AC unit were not working. Chipping paint, non functional appliances, handwritten room numbers 🤦🏾‍♂️, you get the idea. The room was clean(ish) and it was cheap.

The customer service is so terrible, I went up to the window to get my reservation and he completely ignored the first time I told him, and while I was talking to him he closed the window on my face. Also it doesn’t look like they do much cleaning either, in room 106 theirs dirt on the bathroom door and walls. Would recommend somewhere else.

Room was terrible. Floor was water damaged and decor was awful. TV didn't work. The most uncomfortable bed I think I've ever slept on. I pulled the sheets and I'm certain it was a mattress from an old pull out sofa. It was about 4 inches thick and full of springs with no padding. I had the impressions of springs on my skin when I woke up it was so bad. No counter in the bathroom to put your toiletries. No shelf in the shower. Had to put everything on the floor. Will not stay here again.
