Best Western El Grande Inn

Worst hotel stay of my life. We were thankful they were able to switch our room when we woke up from an asthma attack due to the smoke smell in the hall and rooms next to us. Every time we enter or exit we have to hold our breath from the smoke smell. Once we got to our new room we were ready for a good nights sleep but the construction guys had another plan. Before 8 a.m., there was grinding and sawing and knocking that kept making us get up to answer the door thinking someone was there but no. Mattresses and furniture were all over the top floors hall ways, and the noise was non stop. We had no warning of this having come from out of town and we were unable to cancel without losing our money. The first front desk lady we spoke to Lilly was so kind and helped us change rooms. Rooms were large and comfortable. Well equipped with fridge, microwave, coffee pot. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash dispensers were included in the shower, but no lotion or moisturizer in the bathroom.|||Checked in at 6:40pm but the restaurant was closed. Came back after dinner in town to grab a drink but the bar/lounge was closed (it was 9pm). Huh??||Did not use the pool. The hotel on the inside looks like a little outdated, but it was quaint in that 70s vibe so that was fine.||The biggest issue was the hot water. There was none. Shower (and sink) water was lukewarm at best. Not very relaxing at the end of a hard day to come back to a hotel and take a cold/lukewarm shower. I recommended and brought 8 other other guests with my group (6 rooms total) and it was really embarrassing during

Positive: "" Negative: The pipes in the walls clanked and every time the ac went on it made a clunking noise. The mattress made noise too when ever I rolled over.

The best place to stay in Clearlake. Rooms are good sized, clean & you dont have to worry about hearing whats going on in the rooms nextdoor or out in the hallway.. There are stores and places to get food within walking distance.

In 2013, I stayed here. I forgot my car keys at the bar close by, after I left to join a Indian girl back to her reservation. Next day, they helped me call the closed bar. I'm forever grateful to them for helping me get my car keys so I could get out of Clear Lake.
