Travel Inn Sunnyvale

The location of TIS is excellent and very convenient. Unfortunately, the room itself had several issues that affected the overall stay. The room was quite noisy: the refrigerator is old and produces constant noise, the heater is also outdated and noisy, and because the hotel is very close to the road, traffic noise is clearly audible due to insufficient window insulation. While the mattresses were clean and comfortable, the bathroom was very small. Additionally, the tap water appeared discolored and did not seem clean, which was concerning. The receptionist was friendly and helpful; however, the hallway and corridors created an uncomfortable and somewhat unsafe atmosphere, almost like being in a horror movie. I lost my house key and the property management company were not open until the morning. As such, i needed a place to sleep for the night. I saw that this hotel was the least expensive at $103. 00 for an overnight stay. This hotel was all I needed which was 4 walls, a bathroom, and a bed. It's not a luxury hotel. There's no swimming pool or a vending machine for refreshments. The room did have a small fridge, air conditioning, WIFI, and satellite TV. The bed, blankets, and pillows were clean. If all you need is an overnight stay for a reasonable price, I recommend this hotel.

I knew I made a mistake the moment I got to the "lobby". the smell of disinfectant was absolutely overwhelming in this tiny office with a counter. room numbers were taped to the doors looking like relics of renovation/painting from years ago, long since forgotten... my room was right on a busy street and the air conditioning unit sounded like it had a trapped beast inside. definitely bring earplugs or a noise cancelling headset. the coffee machine in the room probably cost $10 and there were no cups or glasses provided so I have no idea if it worked or not. to be fair the room actually wasn't bad, if you just need a decent bed, working electrical outlets, running water, this will suffice. but for $130/night it's just another reminder of how insane the silicon valley is...

There aren't a lot of fancy amenities, but it's very clean and everything works (e.g. wifi, AC, heater, shower, etc.). I had a room near the back which was nice and quiet. Staff is friendly and helpful. Will definitely be staying here again for trips to Silicon Valley.
