TownePlace Suites by Marriott Detroit Belleville

I recently stayed here for a few months because this is where my insurance placed me while we had restoration work done. This hotel was perfect. From the moment you walk in the doors, the staff is welcoming, everything is clean, and the amenities are updated. The breakfast was good and the main dishes rotated every morning (biscuits and gravy, sausages, eggs, etc). There are bagels, muffins, cereal, yogurt. During warmer weather, there is an outdoor grill you can use. Pool looked nice (I never used). Workout facilities were perfect. My room was always clean. This place pays attention to detail and take pride in doing so. Housekeepers are wonderful. Management is great. Front desk workers are welcoming and always helpful. Location is perfect. We were severely delayed coming home from Tokyo, forced to spend the night near the Detroit Metropolitan Wayne airport. I found us the Towneplace Suites by Marriott in Belleville to spend the night, before continuing our journey home the next day. DTW is a nice airport, but it is big and after a confusing maze of corridors, escalators, and elevators, we found our way to the shuttle loading area with all of our bags. The evening shift shuttle driver loaded all of our bags and after a quick twenty minutes drive and a friendly check-in, we settled in to our rooms. The rooms at this hotel are spacious, clean, and comfortable. Still suffering from jet lag, we walked down at 5 am to see if we could score a juice and a muffin. Positive: The receptionist was very welcoming and kind. She was very helpful and responsive to an issue that they were having with my debit card. Negative: When I arrived at the hotel, the first receptionist(a guy) seemed dedicated to keeping me from getting a room. He stated that he could not use my card because it did not have my name on it. I also got bug bites from this hotel.

Staff is VERY unprofessional myself along with a few of my daughters friends stayed here for her birthday we were in our room less than 4 hrs after attending her birthday dinner when the racist staff at the front desk called the police because my daughter friend through up in the trash can in the lobby due to an upset stomach from dinner. Three officers arrived and stated she wanted us to leave when I asked the worker what’s the real issue she ignored me and proceeded to ask the officers to put us on the no trespassing list they told her no and told me to call cooperate and report her! Do NOT book at this hotel!!!

I had an absolutely amazing experience staying here. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and the entire experience was comfortable exceeding my expectations.
