TownePlace Suites by Marriott Amarillo West/Medical Center

We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel! Rooms are nice and spacious, great for work if you’re traveling for business. Good desk space, mini kitchen so you can cook and not eat out every meal. The main reason I can’t give this a 5 star is because the bedside alarm went off at 6am. Who even uses alarm clocks anymore?! Would’ve been nice for the housekeeping staff to check to make sure the alarm wasn’t on. At 6am in the dark without my glasses on, I couldn’t figure out how to turn it off so I just had to unplug it from the wall. Oh and the parking lot is VERY well lit so it felt safe in case you’re traveling alone!

The staff are so nice and the rooms have everything you need in them, set up for you when you wake in. I am really blown away by how caring, thoughtful, and beyond the staff are. shoutout to Coretta and Holly for being attentive and helpful!! Honestly the best experience at a hotel I’ve ever had and I stayed one day!

The staff was over the top helpful and friendly. All of our questions were handled professionally and kindly. The location was a little sketchy but the hotel felt totally safe. The pool was nice and the kids really enjoyed it. Breakfast was way better than expected, definitely loved that.

We stayed for one night and booked in advance using Bonvoy points. The hotel and room were clean, but the front desk experience was disappointing. As a Marriott lifetime elite member who has stayed at many properties worldwide, this was the first time I was “greeted” with a reminder to return the luggage cart instead of a simple hello.||When we entered the room, we found that no kitchen utensils were provided. My wife called the front desk and was told they didn’t have anything available and would need to search. When she asked how long it might take, the response was that we could accompany them to search other rooms and take whatever they found something we’ve never encountered before.
