Take this place off your radar!50 miles from 10 freeway. Terrible roads leading to it, unavoidable tree limbs scratched our rig. It's so dry there, the trees at the campground are breaking and falling down. The roads in the campground need serious attention! Best thing there is the quiet and star gazing. There is nothing around for miles. Medina Lake is DRIED Up! Stay somewhere in Kerrville instead!
Let me start by saying I would not recommend this place. There are some RV parks where people go to die, and in my opinion, this is one of them. There is no lake. It dried up years ago, which I already knew, but in case there are folks out there duped by the name and description on the website, know that. This could be and probably was at one time, a really nice campground. They have a mini golf course, activity center with pool, shuffleboard, games, a TV, etc but none of it is being cared for. They have clearly stopped putting money into it. There is hardly any staff, so when a water pipe burst and the office was closed, we didn't know how to reach anyone. They fixed it the following day. Another pipe burst the day before we left, same issue. So there was water spewing all day, overnight,
This place is a dump and a ghost town. I’ve been traveling for 6 months FT in my RV and got the TT membership. Most of the parks are older and some are run down. So far I haven’t been impressed but this place takes the cake for the worst so far. Campsites are overgrown, potholes everywhere, hot tub is dark and cloudy. Since we had no sewer at our site, we used the shower at the pool. It was so gross🤮!! Mold in the shower and on the curtains, balls of hair on the floor. And the shower leaked through the exterior wall to the outside of the building. And yet their maintenance sheet shows they are ‘cleaning’ the bathroom every couple of days. There’s no point in having the pool still open in November when it’s not heated and there’s no one here. The place looks like it hasn’t been maintained i
Definitely in the middle of nowhere. If you’re coming here to stay for a while, be sure to stock up on propane. The nearest propane supply is 20 miles away. The dried up lake has turned this park into a ghost town. The sites are nicely, wooded and spacious, but maintenance is lacking because of budget probably
Had another great stay at Thousand Trails Medina Lake. Saw a ringtail cat, only one I've seen in the wild in my life. Plus feeding lots of deer.
