The Towers at Lotte New York Palace

The Lotte is a great hotel. The concierge Clara was so wonderful to my wife and me. We have stayed in the Towers and Palace. It is a little expensive for how dated the rooms feel, but the service is great and the location is great. Both times we’ve stayed weather has impacted our trip and the hotel has been so accommodating.

I confirmed one week ahead that my Junior Suite would be ready for the 4 PM check-in I paid for. I even changed our flights (over $1,000 per ticket) so we’d arrive at 5 PM instead of 1 AM to enjoy our Thanksgiving week in NYC. We arrived only to spend two hours waiting, and the room was still not available. The front desk first offered that I could pay $500 extra for an upgrade, but when I asked simply to receive the room I already paid for (or an equivalent or better room) the story changed. We were then told the previous guest had a Fine Hotels & Resorts guaranteed 4 PM checkout, so our room would not be ready. Then the manager, Mike, came over and said the upgraded suite was now suddenly “out of order,” and that it wasn’t $500 more per night but “$5,000 more,” adding that his revenue

Such a disappointment so far. I booked a corner suite in the towers for 2 nights with a friend and her daughter visiting from Australia. Our room wasn’t ready until 630 pm (we were given a comfort room at 5 when our room still wasn’t ready). I had requested a welcome balloon for my friend’s daughter but we never got it. The couch is tired pleather and had a hole in the arm. The mini bar did not work and everything was warm. When I called the front desk, I was told that was someone else’s responsibility (unclear who that person was). I’d also requested champagne upon arrival (and I was happy to pay whatever) but they also did not provide it. There was no crockery, glassware, or utensils in the kitchen. I went in November to take in some of the early holiday festivities with my young family. Lotte provided a magical setting and it is close to iconic tourist destinations. The staff is incredible and the Towers are beautiful inside. Clara and Rebecca at the reception were especially fantastic and helpful

Shower had excellent water pressure. AC worked great. Bed was comfortable, linens could be softer but were fine overall. Noise insulation was incredible for Midtown. Blackout curtains made rest easy.
