Location is beyond great, I liked the security of this hotel. Comfortable beds, nice rooms, pretty standard, does the job. Clean rooms. I didn’t like that there was no iron, or hair diffuser, I asked front desk but wasn’t offered; also did not like the art work in the room or 2 faces didn’t love that. Should change it to a landscape. The lobby and attached restaurant is cute. Offered fund chips towards restaurant able to get a meal or drink. Enjoyed that.
Great downtown location. Welcoming staff and beautiful entry made arriving a lovely experience. Room is spacious and comfortable and bathroom is huge and spotless. Peekaboo views of Elliott Bay and Pike Place Market from the room and elevator lobby are gorgeous. Affiliated restaurant, Ben Paris, is wonderful - great menu, good service and delicious food. Highly recommend!
The State Hotel took wonderful care of us on our first trip to Seattle! We arrived much later than anticipated, but after a long day of travel we were treated to a lovely welcome card and a stunning view of the water from our 8th floor room (809). The rooms are small, but they make impeccable use of the space. The hotel is cozy and welcoming on all accounts. Everything we observed was clean and modern. The art and design is beautiful and reflective of the local scene. The rooms are well appointed with comfortable linens. Qi chargers are provided bedside and Google Chromecast available on the television. The wifi was speedy and trouble free. Given the location (across the street from Pike Place Market), the rooms were surprisingly quiet and peaceful. The Target across the street is perfect
Positive: Comfortable room in a great location, and great staff. I particularly loved the lobby area and the Ben Paris restaurant was a great breakfast option. Negative: Nope
Overall, quite disappointing compared to other hotels in the area. If you get the right room, you get a great view of the market and the Puget Sound, but there isn't much to boast besides that. The breakfast was decent and front desk was nice. The rooms themselves were pretty awful. I can't think of a hotel where there wasn't a pen/writing utencil provided in the room until I stayed here. The cable TV was spotty, and Google cast refused to work the first night, very intermittent the next. Worst of all was the bathroom. It looked nice from pictures online until I saw there was only half the shower covered. It was impossible to keep the bathroom floor from being covered in water, so you can expect to step in a cold, soaked bathroom floor for the rest of the day or bring a pair of sandals to
