Had the most amazing weekend staying at the Samuel Johnson House. The house is a gem, hidden amongst the pines. Enjoy a cup of coffee, surrounded by birdsong, or have a picnic under the magnolia tree! The inside of the house is stylishly decorated, incorporating antique pieces with jewel-tone hues, along with modern day southern comforts. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a quiet retreat that pairs well with a glass of sweet tea!
My family spent the July 4th Holiday at The Samuel Johnson House and it was absolutely perfect. The small historic southern charm of this home is amazing. It was very peaceful and quiet. The interior was charming with all the bedrooms and bathrooms very clean and cozy. We woke up every morning and had coffee on the large sun porch watching the birds. The full kitchen was perfect to make breakfast. The Wi-Fi had no interruption, and we were able to watch cable TV. All the other amenities including the historic books, photos, and hats which added an extra charm to this secluded gem. Our favorite part of the home was the interior woodwork completed by the owners. They have truly made it a home away from home.
Such a delight. Every historical detail has been restored and preserved. All of the modern convenience such as AC, internet, TV etc. Have been thoughtfully added. The location is surrounded by beautiful trees and wild life. A definite return is in our future.
