The River Bluff Cabins

We stayed in the Buffalo Cabin and it was amazing!! The view right on the edge of the bluff overlooking the Illinois river is spectacular! The cabin is super clean and the beds are very comfortable. The whole place is serene and relaxing with many tall trees like a canopy. The cabin is completely ADA compatible and has easy access right off of the car port. No steps and wide doorways. Grab bars in the master bathroom, with plenty of room to move around. The river access is a beautiful walk, down a wooded path with signs that point you right to it. We only wish we could have stayed longer!!

Clean sleeping spot, super clean private bathroom with cabinet space to store your toiletry items, clean pad for hanging out and grilling. The trail to the shore and picnic table is exactly .3 mi as stated at the trailhead. It is all downhill and alllll uphill on the return so be prepared. The rocks getting into kids sandals is something to consider. There wasn’t much safe swimming space during our July visit so we were slightly better off going to Todd Public Access Area just down the road. We did have to cross the current to a point to find a spot to sit at Todd too… We loved the little lights at our tent, inside and out. Plus a tiny lantern for helping settle in at night. We rented 3 glamping tents for a family trip over the summer. Our group wanted to float the river during the day and camp out at night! Loved the private bathrooms with A/C!! Customer service was amazing! If you had any questions they respond very quickly. Tents were super cute and fun. It was hot during the day, but little AC unit in each tent made sleeping perfect. We were not hot at all while sleeping, which was awesome! Mini fridge in each tent was perfect also. I even laid on one of the bunkbed cots and they were comfortable and could sleep an adult. Beds were comfortable. We loved all the party lights outside and there is a campfire/firepit set up & table and chairs per each glamping tent. They even had little lanterns and UNO(card game) in each tent- which our family played!! As an

Our group spent one night in the “Redbud” glamping tent. We had a great time! It was fun to unplug for a bit and enjoy time around the camp fire. The kids had fun playing the games provided (like Uno) and even used the vollleyball net a bit. The air conditioning unit worked great over night keeping the temperature comfortable in the middle of July. The owners are great and very fast getting back to us with any questions we had. We will definitely be back!

My family stayed two nights in Eagle Rock Cabin. It is positively dreamy. Completely charming and cozy. The vintage decor is perfect for this stone cabin. You feel transported to another time and place. The kids kept almost running into the glass doors because they were SO clean - a testament to the cleanliness of the entire home. The hosts were equally amazing. The home is stocked with literally everything you could need. The details that the hosts take the time to pamper their guests with is impressive. The hosts are very kind, professional, and good communicators. We look forward to staying here again!
