The hotel is quite good. The staff at the reception, breakfast and housekeeping were very good. We were quite well impressed by Consuelo and Jackie from housekeeping, as they were extremely nice and helpful when we needed.||At the front desk Mei was particularly nice and helped us everytime we needed, bue we got great tips from everyone.||We also enjoyed the exercise classes in the morning and the breakfast at the pool restaurant.||I believe that the only thing that requires some extra attention from management is parcel and luggage storage. Two of the team members were very nice and helpful but we had two situations that didn't match our expectations, namely forgetting to give us one of our bags and losing two parcels. As people who travel regularly, we place a lot of emphasis on other reviews when booking. I was rather concerned reading previous reviews of this property, but having stayed at multiple other Ritz Carlton’s (Singapore, Koh Samui, Dalllas, Melbourne etc) we hoped the brand would live up to expectations and great experiences at other properties. IT DID NOT! Strongly suggest avoiding this property at all costs. Look at the low ranked reviews, they all make sense to me after staying. This property has us questioning if we would ever stay with this brand again. Amazing isn’t it, how one property can tarnish a brands reputation. A Disappointing Anniversary: Inconsistent Service & Poor Management We stayed for 2 nights for our anniversary, and while there were highlights, this property is showing its age and lacks the basic standards of the Ritz-Carlton brand. The Room & Housekeeping (The "Ugly"): The hotel is dated and, frankly, one of the least attractive Ritz properties we’ve seen. We were upgraded to a 1-bedroom suite, but it was filthy. There was dust and someone else’s makeup under the TV stand that stayed there our entire stay. We complained on the first night, but the Housekeeping Manager didn't return our call until 5 minutes before we checked out on Day 3. What can you even do at that point? Great hotel Dinner was 5/5 Lunch was sub par, but service complimented it. The service here was over the top amazing. Valet had accommodated very well with the busy weekend. Price point is a little high, but you can tell with the attention to detail this place has when it comes to customer service. The placement too makes this 10/10 you’re near everything, most hotels are a headache to pull in to, but this one is like perfect. I’ll probably be staying here from now on based on that. The beach is right in front to you, which is like a must when staying in Miami. The only bad side is the fees and up charges on some of the bills, but this is common practice in the area so no reason to fault the hotel if the market is already doing it. Downgraded Without Notice on Valentine’s Day — Completely Unacceptable Experience Our Valentine’s Day stay at The Ritz-Carlton South Beach was a complete disappointment. We booked one month in advance, a balcony with a view room yet upon arrival our room was downgraded without any notice or consent to a no view window room. As Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite members, we expected professionalism and transparency. Instead, we were placed in Room 506 facing a rooftop full of AC units. There was no view whatsoever — we couldn’t see the ocean, the city, or even a street. In South Beach, surrounded by water and beautiful scenery, being placed in a room where you can’t even tell where you are is unacceptable. The room felt horrible and completely below expectations. Even worse, no one contacted us
