The Ranch at Walston Springs

Amanda and Paul have an absolutely beautiful B&B that is so charming and relaxing. My wife and I stayed just a couple nights over a long weekend and fell in love with the place, but also the people. Amanda describes herself as "just a home cook". Let me tell you - She could put professional chefs to shame. Breakfast was wonderfully prepared with fresh ingredients and beautifully platted & served al-fresco on the porch of the dog-trot house. Both Paul and Amanda have a warm generosity of heart and offer some of the best hospitality in the industry. Do yourself a favor and book a quiet retreat at the "ranch"

Though this B&B is only about 15 miles from our home, we were unaware of it. Some friends of ours who were planning to visit us located it online, and we decided to stay also. While they stayed in a room in the vintage dogtrot house, my wife and I opted for "The Coop" cabin, because it was large enough to serve as a central place for all four of us to cook, dine, visit, and play games. Also, the cabin is dog-friendly (for a fee), which saved us boarding fees for our corgis.||We found the cabin to be well equipped and nicely decorated, with a very comfortable bed.||While not included with our cabin stay, we opted to purchase breakfast and have it served in our cabin with our friends. The hashbrown topped quiche was hot and delicious the first morning, as were the sausage gravy and biscuits

Such a nice stay we had at this charming bed and breakfast! Our hosts Amanda and Paul went above and beyond making our time at the Ranch at Walston Springs so enjoyable and peaceful. This place has so much character and we could feel how much love and attention to detail the owners have put into every corner of the rooms and the common areas. The fresh-made breakfast was so delicious and generous portions too. We also got extra lucky that the space was already decorated for Christmas with lots of beautiful colors and holiday lights. We wished we had more time to enjoy the beautiful trails and lovely scenery. Can’t wait to be back!

Just absolutely amazing!!! What a wonderful quiet getaway, great little cabin and you're treated like family with old fashioned East Texas hospitality. Cannot wait to return and if you're looking for lodging in the Palestine area, this should be at the top of your list. Make sure to order breakfast if it does not come included with your cabin, it was amazing as well. Thank you again!!!

We looked for a fun place to stay in Palestine for a night because we were meeting the family to ride the Piney Woods Express. Their 4.9 rating did not disappoint. Paul and Amanda are wonderful hosts. Their restaurant recommendations for lunch and dinner were spot on. Breakfast was amazing with baked French toast, eggs, crisp thick bacon, home made blueberry jam, orange juice and endless coffee. The dog trot house was late 1800’s and decorated in period style. Our room had a private en-suite bath will a jail themed shower. The bed was comfortable and the room has its own A/C. We shared a small kitchen with the other two rooms for coffee, waters, fridge and supplies. Amanda makes jams and soaps, Paul is the handyman. But their real gift is hospitality. We felt very welcomed and cared for.
