The Park West Hotel

I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel. Recently stayed 4 nights, with my daughter who booked trip. After reading reviews, I was concerned about the cleanliness and other things but we were in a very clean room. The bathroom looked brand new. Plenty of hot water, a/c and heater both worked great and the staff were so friendly. Also, the location is perfect. We could see central park from our room window. Definitely recommend those hotel for a NYC visit.

The conditions are not deplorable or dirty but the furniture appears older and rooms are very small. The staff is nice and helpful. The location was right next to Central Park and good restaurants but room was very small, just big enough for the bed and a dresser. I gave the low rating primarily because the remote control for the TV wouldn't work, the toilet would not flush as it was clogged, and then the power short circuited in my room. I called the front desk as soon as I realized the AC unit had powered off and it was resolved within five minutes. If you are looking for a hotel with basic amenities (mini fridge, hair dryer, coffee maker), this is probably not the place you want to stay. My friend and I had a wonderful stay during our girls trip. After reading the reviews, I became nervous (esp reading about bed bugs). However the hotel was great, clean, safe, and hospitable! The only thing I can gather is that the negative reviews came from unrealistic expectations. This is not a 5 star hotel and it doesn't claim to be. Yes the building is an updated very old building but I looked at it as historic and authentic NY experience. Close to metro. Loved the quietness compared to midtown! Beds/pillows were very comfortable. If you look at it as the 3 star hotel that it is, then you will be more than satisfied and save money in the process.

Very satisfied with my families stay at Park West, we had stayed here several years ago, the rooms were clean and nice, the hotel is right by the subway connecting you all over New York. The staff were friendly and allowed a late check out, thank you

The room was very neat, clean and smelled really good. However the elevator is very tiny and so was the room. The bed was very low to the floor and the refrigerator was warm and had no thermostat to increase the temperature. Also the hotel does not have cable and the failed to provide the face cloths. Apart from those minor issue Oh yeah and the parking is limited but not impossible. I would recommend staying at this hotel.
