The Palms Hotel

This hotel may not have every modern amenity the big corporate hotels offer, but what it does have is authentic local charm, and that’s exactly why we loved it. We stayed a full week and had a wonderful time. We didn’t even rent a car—we simply walked everywhere, and at 69 years old it was easy to get around from this location. The hotel itself is older but very well cared for. Everything is freshly painted, clean, and clearly maintained with pride. There’s a saltwater pool with a bar, which became a favorite spot to relax. One thing we really noticed was how attentive the staff is to maintenance and cleanliness. When we needed the soap dispenser fixed, it was taken care of right away. The pool area is washed down every morning, and we saw the pool bathrooms cleaned multiple times a day

Dated but clean. More like a motel. About a 20 minute or more walk to Duval. Pool is heated and smaller than it looks in the pix. There is a bar at the pool closes like 5pm. Bartender did not speak English that I could tell. Breakfast nothing special, actually went somewhere off site. Staff pleasant and friendly. Rates a bit high IMO. I had a room with double entry doors. The room fits a king bed and barely anything else. There is a small fridge. Some guest had issues with lost reservations. Not sure I would stay again.

Positive: The breakfast was good Negative: The pool was a bit cloudy but that was ok.

This was a very pleasant stay. Donna at the front desk could not be more accommodating. Rooms were very clean and we felt very safe. Plumbing could use an upgrade, but this is an old historic home so one has to keep that in mind. Free breakfast out on the patio with adequate and we were replaced with it. Very convenient to doing things in Key West. We will definitely stay here if we are ever back in the area.

The Honeymoon King room definitely has some south american vibe :) it was nice to stay there, but with some notes: The bed it too soft for our taste, it was a bit noisy sometimes /neighbor rooms and planes/, it was easy to park 1-2 streets away but near the hotel. The breakfast was just simply unbeliveable, if you go from Europe: just a few options, really, paper plates so there is some space to improve…
