My husband and I had the best getaway weekend at The Oaks. From the initial reservation call with Kathie, the attention to detail to ensuring we had a lovely anniversary, the absolutely spotless suite (I have an eagle eye when it comes to cleanliness details and usually can find something that grosses me out - not here!), the comfy bed (sheets are like butter!), the happy hour specials in the dining room ($1 local diver oysters on the half shell! Live piano player!) phenomenal gourmet complimentary breakfast and stocked concierge wet bar, you don’t need to leave this oasis. First, let me say how lovely my wife and I experience was at The Oaks from the time we arrived until our departure.||The staff was so welcoming and attentive which made the stunning accommodations that much-more attractive. We decided on a cottage, which was perfect for our much needed downtime. The cottage furnishings were elegant and every attention to detail was meant.||In addition, to the staff and accommodations, our dining experiences were delightful ... the halibut to the hamburger were delicious. Oh, and the pancakes for breakfast were outstanding. Even our dining experience in St. Michael's was enjoyable, great seafood!||Lastly, let me say, we have found a jewel on the eastern shore. My wife and I cannot say enough good things about the Oaks. We had our wedding there in October (an amazing time of the year for it) and there was quite literally nothing we would change. The staff were unbelievable from the moment we booked our tour to when we said goodbye the morning after the wedding. I don't know where to start with Joe. If you need something, he'll make it happen. Every hotel/wedding venue needs a Joe. But it's not just him. Each morning, the staff were out in the yard picking up sticks and leaves so the property was spotless. They approach everything with that attitude. The food was the best we've ever had a wedding. Idyllic waterfront getaway! Reservations were seamless thanks to the amazing Beth. Throughout my stay, the whole staff, in particular Linda, Joe, Beth, Kathie, Osrey, Yeni, etc., were welcoming, went above and beyond to help in any way, and made my trip feel like a luxury home away from home. Gorgeously appointed, clean and quiet rooms, delicious dining, and meticulously cared for grounds on the Miles River will draw me back very soon.

After living in Talbot County for 23 years, we met some friends at The Oaks restaurant for dinner, which was our very first time visiting this hidden gem. I can’t say enough about this place. Now decorated for Christmas, the views in the evening were breathtaking from the moment we parked the car. The staff at the restaurant was phenomenal. Linda immediately introduced herself, welcomed us, and took our coats. Before we were seated, we were allowed to walk around to just soak in some of the nighttime views. Deborah was an excellent server and the food was superb. The women had the short ribs and the men had the halibut and both dishes were cooked to perfection.
