The Millwood - A Boutique Hotel

Clean, comfortable with good lighting. Got a room on the second floor, the view is at the corridor outside the room which overlooks the parking area. Walls are thin so one can hear muffled conversation, toilet sounds, and the tv. Microwave and fridge were useful. About 8-10 minute walk to Milbrae Trader Joe’s, Safeway, Walgreens and an $8 Uber ride in the other direction to Shops at Tanforan (Marshall’s, Target, BJs sports bar). Good base at The Millwood to do all I needed to over the 2-night stay. $13 uber ride back to the airport; From the airport: took the BART to Milbrae ($5.50) then an $8 uber ride to hotel. I thought a $30 uber ride from airport too excessive for a solo traveler.

The Millwood is a gem. While most might use it for its proximity to the airport, we stayed there as an economical alternative while visiting The City. It’s an easy drive in, minutes away (Depending on rush hour. HA!). The sparkly clean rooms, comfortable beds, and full tile bathrooms surpass many of the more costly name brands, even around the airport area. The friendly staff upgraded us to a suite with couch and fireplace, a much appreciated hospitality gift. The breakfast offerings were fresh, varied for all dietary needs, and frankly far superior to offerings in most other hotels. They even included a cappuccino/espresso maker! That was a first for us! This was our second time staying at the Millwood. The front desk staff are very kind and helpful, the rooms are well equipped, and I like that the walkway to the rooms is behind a glass partition. The decor and plants around the walkways are a vibe and the place smells amazing. They have high end shampoo/conditioner/etc. in the all marble (!) bathrooms and the beds are so comfortable. We walked seven minutes down the street to eat at the restaurant called Yummy Szechuan (also highly recommend). We will stay at the Millwood any time we are flying out of SFO early morning.

Good location to airport. I’d love to give a better review but I don’t appreciate hidden fees. I was an hour early to check-in and even though the room was ready, I was charged for an early check in. Reviewing policies on the hotel website, late checkout indicates there will be fees, but no mention of fees for early check in. The policy actually makes me believe that a room, if available, will be offered. It does not state that a room if available will be offered but for a fee. I feel deceived by this property especially since they withhold information about their policies until you check in, then it seems a policy is made up on the spot.

I'm a travel LVN. ⛑️ I've been avoiding leaving a review because I met the owner two years ago was very nice heard my concerns of two bad rooms lady gave me and how mean and rude they were to me they definitely don't want my skin color 🤎 to rent at this hotel they even have the grandson lieing there's no rooms available and I haven't seen any mail for you ! I have different trades I watch people's body language and how they interact with me especially when they can't look in the eye when you're asking them question that when people are lieing doesn't make any sense just be truthful I can go elsewhere and spend my money$ when I'm not working in the city there was some other times I was given filthy room with know hygiene in bathroom really bad smell microwave whole room dirty it was bad a
