The Mercury Hotel

🏖️ Location = goated — 2 blocks from South Beach and tons of cafes & shops 😎🌴 But this place is retro Miami meets “meh” reality” 😅 Rooms vary wildly (think outdated vibes and random decor), walls are thin, and service is spotty at best. Pool + kitchenette = perks, but don’t expect luxury ✌️💸📢

I would not recommend staying here. The location is good but the room was terrible. We stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment. The first issue was actually getting into the room itself. The door did not fit correctly into the frame and was extremely difficult to open as it would stick to the frame. It had previously been damaged by this issue as you could clearly see where it had been repaired. My husband had to literally’ hip and shoulder’ the door to open it (I was unable to open it). The apartment was in desperate need of a refurbishment. The furniture was old and stained and there were food splatters on the lamp and curtains in the bedroom. The curtains were filthy. The safe did not work and no action was taken by management to fix or replace this when we requested this. We had a lot of trou

My family came here to escape Hurricane Ian, so we didn't exactly came here for a fun time vacation. Cons first: We haven't seen any room service. Our balcony was flooded from the rains. The free soaps were small & the towels definitely were old. Main pool definitely was dirty. The showers were rather funky. Elevator smells weird. Pros: The hot pool was more cleaner & was relaxing. The rooms were clean & none of my family saw any bugs. The beds were comfortable. There's laundry service here if you got quarters. There's a cool Tea House to drink tea at & a fancy Italian restaurant as well. Wifi works great! In a nutshell, it ain't no 5 star hotel like the many others here in Miami Beach, but you get what you paid for. I'd say you can do significantly worse if you're here due to an evacua

This was actually the wirst hotel stay I have had. I booked a stay with my husband off hotwire and was excited as the location is primo (super close to the beach, very walkable and convenient). When we got to our room it hadn't been cleaned properly as there was still a piece of garbage beside the bed, and a soap bar stuck to the shower wall. Our room looked similar to the photos... but was pretty run down as if it was a 'before renovations' photo. Housekeeping only comes every 3 days as per the front desk, but we were there for 4 days and never saw them. The front desk employee only comes if you ring a bell, which us fine for me, and they were quite nice but overall not very helpful. I feel management here is not up to par. 3.5 stars. The pictures are not accurate at all (notice how they are all from travel sites and not from travelers), but the location is amazing and the beds were comfy. Hot tub was broken for the entirety of our stay, and it gets quite noisy due to the nightclub next door, but if you're from a city you should be fine. I think with more honesty about what you get and a deep clean/perhaps a bit of renovation, this place could be amazing.
