The McCormick Scottsdale

Really disappointed with the hotel. We would NOT stay here again. For the money there are many better options. Convenient location with a lovely view of a man made lake and a nice saltwater pool...but that's where it stops. The facility is very dated and desperately needs an upgrade. Our king room was decent with a nice view but hallways and stairwells were quite grimey. The room lighting was horrible and there was not one USB plug in...The TV remote had a hard time working. Waited 10 minutes to order (bad) coffee in the restaurant....and the eggs Benedict had stale tasting ham in it. The front desk staff were very nice and doing their very best with an inadequate facility.

The location is ideal and there are beautiful views right at the hotel. The rooms definitely had a lot of wear and tear, older furniture, sliding barn doors for bathroom, older carpeting. The hotel staff was responsive and always helpful, and Terry in the restaurant/ bar is one of the kindest people I've ever met! He completely made my stay and dining such a pleasant experience!

Location was perfect and the atmosphere rooms all have a cozy vibe. I forgot something in the room of great value to me and Rebecca at the front desk was so gracious to coordinate with housekeeping and get them back for me. Rebecca not only has patience and excellent customer service but acted quickly to get my headphones and held onto them until I came back to pick them up. There are places (not naming names) Ive stayed at in the past would have never helped me to get back my forgotten item. I feel comfortable staying at this hotel they are honest and quick to help. Rebecca is truly what customer service|Is about and I recommend anyone to come here and relax knowing you are in a hotel that does care for your needs. Thanks Rebecca and thank you to the McCormick!

Positive: The pool area was best Negative: The hotel itself was out dated,,seem to have a lot of fixing going on,, bathroom was very clean I was thankful for that,,,I guess I got the bang for my buck,,views was perfect pool area was nice,,staff was nice and helpful

This hotel is not worth the price. If it was a regular hotel at a price matching other Ramada's or Best Westerns I would say fine. But this hotel was expensive and I upgraded my room. Not sure what the upgrade was. Balcony door only locked with a burglar bar. Balcony had no real privacy. The furniture all had dings and scuffs. The reading light didn't work. Staff seemed to want to interact as little as possible. Cleaning staff looked away when we walked by and front desk staff was efficient to a fault of feeling like they just wanted me to go away. They had an event (wedding maybe) going on that we could hear in our room with everything closed and the AC fan on.
