The Mayo Hotel

I stayed in a Signature Suite. The staff at the front desk are lovely, the tub is amazing, and the water gets nice and hot. On the other hand, in-room dining is listed on their website but no one ever answers the phone and the beds are squeaky/lumpy. I'd expect a little more for the price. The area is very pretty, but many things close down after mid-afternoon during the week, so options can be limited. Suite has a nice kitchen with lots of storage but no plates or silverware, which seems odd.

This is a repeat stay for us, my husband and I were in Tulsa to visit our son. We would never ever stay at any other hotel while we are here. This visit merely reinforced that feeling. We checked in on the evening of Thursday October 16 and were greeted by the friendliest front desk clerks who warmly welcomed us and got us promptly checked in. We stayed in a lovely Suite (316) that we will be sure to request on our next visit. The Mayo Hotel is a stunning historic gem and a true Tulsa landmark. You can feel the history the moment you walk in—this hotel has hosted icons like Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe, and JFK, and was once a gathering place for Tulsa’s oil barons during the city’s boom years. The craftsmanship and restoration are beautifully done, honoring its past while feeling elegant and comfortable. A must-do during your stay is stopping by the café. It has great little snacks, and we loved taking them back to our room to enjoy while watching a movie—simple, cozy, and perfect after a day out. Bill, at the cafe, truly made our stay exceptional. A beautiful, stylish hotel with a lot of history, The Mayo clearly provides a wonderful venue for an event. Our"Luxury Room" over night on the evening of January 1st, seemed more compact than expected, but was nicely appointed. The restaurant closure for the holiday disappointed my wife and I. Almost ZERO communication and information from the staff seemed completely at odds with The Mayo's reputation. I expect a printed receipt when I pay for something. I expected more than a simple statement that their restaurant and coffee shop were closed. A recommendation for a nearby restaurant would have been appropriate. Our 7th floor room backed onto a noisy alley. Valet parking at $30 for overnight exceed our expectations for service. The Mayo we experienced earned their mixed review from us. We
