The Manner

We booked a one-night stay at The Manner SoHo as a quick Valentine’s getaway from Boston to New York City to see a show, and it exceeded our expectations. The hotel was beautiful, spotless, and perfectly located in SoHo — quiet yet within easy walking distance of so many great restaurants and foodie spots. The design and ambiance are truly breathtaking, but what stood out most was the service. All of the staff were great, but Alejandro (Alex) welcomed us the moment we stepped onto the property, recognized us each time we came and went, and was especially warm, helpful, and friendly throughout our stay. Great room, and overall the decor of the hotel is very different and a welcome change from the bland experience that NYC can sometimes deliver. Spotlessly clean. The breakfast concept is a total failure. Seating does not work, no proper tables unless you get one of the communal tables and the "pantry" is just ridiculous. Having to squeeze between people eating to try and pick up a croissant, or wait for the haphazard table service where items are often forgotten just does not work. It is wrong that you have to ask 3x to get a coffee. Matthew at the front desk was excellent. Service at the Otter and Sloan's was great. Fix the breakfast with proper seating, make the servers more identifiable (wear a pin?) and have a better ordering system so items do not get forgotten.

I am in Manhattan for work often and been lucky to stay in great places and in different 'hoods. The Manner is truly amazing. I don't love chain hotels but this makes me reconsider. Great location. The quietest rooms I might have stayed in. Really gorgeous decor, high quality and interesting. Breakfast is included and great coffee and assortment of options. The gentleman there is great. This stay I ate at the bar at their restaurant The Otter and it was a delight. Sam, the bartender, was great company and took good care of me. The halibut dish was very well done and interesting. Only knock I can give them is they don't have an in house gym but you do get access to the Equinox nearby. This is my go-to place for the city. Thank you!

All was perfect, as usual. Always coming back here for business trips to New York.

My wife and I enjoyed every second of our stay here. We were greeted kindly from the beginning with Matthew taking excellent care of us with generous upgrades/accommodations, and the rest of the staff were just as helpful n friendly. The attention to detail and the breakfast at The Apartment (2nd story lounge) were top tier, and the location couldn’t have been better. Appreciate the quality and effort your staff put in to giving us a great experience!
