My partner and I have just come to the end of our trip for our 30th birthdays. Before coming, reading the reviews - we were a bit concerned with what people had said. We booked a premium room to be on the safe side. We arrived after 7 hours of flights and the staff were very nice. We were early so wandered down to Times Square until check in. Our first room unfortunately was missing a blind chain so we weren’t able to put the blind down. However, after going to reception, they were very understanding and moved us to a new room which was better and they were nothing but apologetic. Electric blinds and an amazing rainfall shower which was brilliant. The bed was comfy and it had everything we need. Yes, it may need a fresh up here and there, but those kind of things don’t bother us whatsoever
Came here for my 40th Birthday. Location wise this hotel is 10/10. Close to everything you need and would want to visit. Views from our room were great but that’s really where the good review stops. |Main reception is modern and clean and from the outside you would think “this is going to be great inside” but unless you pay $100 of dollars extra for a newly renovated room 18th floor upwards, your in for a surprise. The first room we were allocated had the heating system blowing full heat and no thermostats to even turn off. Allocated to another room which was bigger but just as grubby. It was a room which had a door linked to another and could hear everything from next door! Walls are thin. Moth eaten curtains, grubby carpets, towel rails hanging off the wall, shower from the 1900’s, every
3/5. It is very outdated and currently undergoing construction, so throughout the day and sometimes into the evening you can hear construction tools. It made it difficult to fully relax during the stay. My room was also near the elevator, and we could constantly hear it thumping every time it moved, which added even more noise. On the positive side, the room itself was clean. The sheets and towels were fresh and well maintained, which I appreciated. However, the room felt like it was falling apart in several places. The TV didn’t work at all because none of the channels had signal, the bathroom was very small, one of the sink handles was loose, and even the lampshade looked worn and damaged. Overall, the room clearly needs updating. The reason I still gave the hotel 3 stars instead of l
Start with the bad Room was really cold even with the heater on full blast . There was a balcony and the balcony door was quite loose and draughty, the windows were not double glaze and you could hear a lot of the sirens and going on’s outside . The room was very dated but clean . No remote for the tv. Not many plug sockets and some did not look safe . The main door had a dent in the front and didn’t feel very secure . We had 2 double beds and they were quite springy . The good Staff at reception were really friendly, the bell boys were really attentive . Breakfast was included in my price and it was just a drink weather it be hot drink , a pastry and a piece of fruit . I enjoyed. Plenty of lifts to the rooms. The room was spacious and plenty of room. Plenty of towels and the maid came in
This hotel was a great experience overall. We arrived and got upgraded to a king-size room — winning, right? Well… not quite. It was very basic and the shower completely gave up the next morning. I went downstairs and asked for our original room back and they sorted it straight away (credit where it’s due). Our original room was basic but comfortable, cozy, had a great view, and the shower was AMAZING (justice restored). Renovations were going on, but honestly for the price we paid, it was an absolute bargain. Breakfast wasn’t sit-down — it was a lobby queue, grab-and-go situation. You got a croissant or bagel with cream cheese, yogurt, a piece of fruit, plus coffee or tea, or orange or apple juice. Simple, but it hit the spot before heading out. I loved the American accent and the maj
