The Lodge at Turning Stone

We are regular players at the Turning Stone. On rare occasion we stay at the Lodge. For me it is always the best stay if we are at the Lodge.||||The walk to the gaming floor is a long one due to age and ill-health. We take the shuttle, which makes it easier to get to the gaming. The shuttle always picks us up so quickly. The shuttle drivers are the most interesting and friendly people. One night during the recent winter blizzard, our driver was from Florida. He had an interesting story about driving in a hurricane vs driving in a snow storm. He was such a nice young man!!! He entertained us with the story. As of 1/13: their pool is not open, which is why I’m leaving a 3 star review along with what felt like poor customer service. We arrived at 2:40, and were told that NO rooms were ready. I asked if one would be ready by 3 and she said “well, the check in *process* begins at 3.” Funny that no rooms were ready because when we left the next day, housekeeping was trying to get into our room promptly at 11:06am (check out at 11am). The pool was half of why we booked this rather expensive hotel suite. I asked what the pool hours were and she told us the pool was closed and I should know that on my booking email and their website. We were met with resistance until I showed her it was not on their site or email and that I likely would’ve booked somewhere else. They apologized, said they would “upgr

The Lodge offers a beautiful getaway in a contemporary, country setting, if that makes sense. Extremely convenient to everything Turning Stone has to offer including a back way to the Convention Center and to the Casino. It is close enough yet far away enough from the hustle and bustle of the casino to offer a beautiful, quiet oasis. The Lodge is also super convenient (short walk) to the two "house golf courses", Shenendoah and Kulahyat, pronounced 'goolyôt' which is the 2nd rated public course right behind Bethpage Black. Another highlight is the fact that I visit every October, close to the peak season for beautiful foliage. I highly recommend The Lodge at Turning Stone!

I really struggled deciding between 3 and 4 stars. The pros are that the rooms are extremely clean and comfortable. Shuttle was flawless even for short distances. One of the best hotel beds, and the cleaning staff clearly works very hard. The cons were the inconsistencies across all of the services. A family member was promised conjoined rooms due to a disability with a family member, checked in to make sure it was all set several times, but when arrived was told it wasn’t possible. Then they finally found one, and the conjoining door was broken. Room service is offered, but we couldn’t reach them. We asked for no turn down service, but they did it every day regardless. To be clear they cleaned way above and beyond. Kudos to that team.

Service, ambiance and food were incredible. The Lodge was pure bliss and peaceful.||I stayed from Christmas Eve to the day following Christmas. ||Valet was superb.||Drinks at Pino were satisfying.||TS Steakhouse was absolutely AMAZING.
