The Landmark Hotel

I selected this hotel based on the reviews in Booking.com "Very Good" 4.6., Expedia "4.8". DON'T BELIEVE the reviews. The place is old, smells bad, it's run down, the hallway carpets are dirty and smell bad. The room smelled strange but after we turned on the a/c it got a little better. Bathroom is tiny, but it was clean. The only positive: the bed is very comfortable. Overall we regretted the choice, but we were very tired and decided to stay. It needs major renovations.

Rooms are nice & clean! Stay here every year for a family reunion. Staff are super nice & try to accommodate your needs!❤️

After booking the room in well in advance early Saturday morning , we drove 25 miles through horrible weather conditions to get to safety from a potential devastating flood that was happening near my home only to be turned away . We live local . After arriving They informed me that they don’t rent to locals . We live 25 miles away from the hotel and not in the city. My husband has a heart condition and we wanted to be near a hospital because of mudslides and high water issues . |I feel we were treated unfair. I do not recommend this hotel. They only seem to care about outsiders with whom they can impress , it’s was a very bad situation .

The staff was friendly, however the condition of the property is definitely not up to par, the elevator smelled of dog poop, the bathroom was so small you can barely make it past the rotted door to get in it ..... Carpet was filthy and hallways were filthy, there were used toothpicks on the floor in my room as well as dirty pillow cases and the room was definitely smoked in, the curtains reeked of cigarettes but they said it is smoke free, pictures they post are definitely false advertising, looks nothing like them thats why the main photo is of the small fireplace in the lobby
