The Lake George Bear's Den

We originally planned on camping but figured this would be better as its more like glamping! The cottage we selected had a small fridge with freezer, microwave and at our request was outfitted with a coffee maker when we arrived. The room was clean, with a working window AC unit and a small bathroom; everything we needed. We had a wonderful spot with a grill and fire pit; we made use of both, even when it rained. This is a dog friendly property so it was nice being able to bring our pup along to enjoy the great outdoors. Dan and his family were wonderful at answering all our questions before and during our stay; you could always find someone on property who would be able to help you. We got a chance to chat with Dan a few times and he shared their story of how they came to own and operate

Wow, this place was everything my wife and I expected AND MORE. First, it is extremely priced well, Dan and his family are very courteous and professional - their hospitality makes you feel right at home. The cabin is a quiet and peaceful getaway, everyone staying at this location was extremely friendly as well. Most importantly for us, this stay was PET FRIENDLY, it was great to bring our pup, as she got to hang with other dogs who were there as well. We will be coming back!

We spent a week at The Bear’s Den and had the best time. Dan, the owner, and his daughter, Lauren, suggested restaurants, activities and hikes for us and they were spot on! The cabins are quaint and clean and contain everything you need. It’s camping with a bed and a shower, and it’s awesome. We spent the afternoons at the pool and totally enjoyed ourselves. We highly recommend and we will return! Dan, Meg and Lauren ( we didn’t get to meet Claire) thanks for an amazing week!!

The attention you get from staff is unparalleled. If there is am issue while you are staying Dan and his family will make it right. We were given a cabin upgrade for our 4 days and we're not charged the first night due to an issue with our cabin. Fantastic time while there and cabins and sites had everything you needed. Location is close to everything but not too close. Thank you for a wonderful stay with my family.

This was a great place to stay! We had a blast, even though it was only for a weekend. The new owner Dan, who purchased it this past spring, is amazing! Him and his family are so caring, helpful, and fun! The cabin we stayed in was immaculate! We had fun in the pool by day, and by our own firepit by night. It was large enough to fit 5 adults, a 4 month old baby and 3 dogs! this place is not far from town, we took a trolley, which picks you up at the end of the driveway..how fun! if I could give 10 stars I would. We will definitely be returning next year, for a week or more!
