Customer Reviews
We specifically booked this hotel because it had a pool, and when we arrived, we were told the pool was broken. That was extremely disappointing, as the pool was the main reason we chose this property in the first place. Had we known it wasn’t operational, we would have booked another hotel for the same price — one with a working pool. To make matters worse, the woman at the reception desk when we checked in was very rude and unwelcoming. After a long day of travel, that was the last thing we expected. Customer service sets the tone for a stay, and unfortunately, this started things off poorly. The overall condition of the hotel was unacceptable for the price we paid. The room felt dirty, and common areas were not maintained properly. The coffee station in the morning was filthy, and the
Hotel lobby area had zero heat. Front desk said it’s not working, 15 degrees outside. Our room was 53 degrees when we walked in. Wall heater wasn’t working. Gave us a new room. Bathroom fan cannot be shut off, had to listen to that all night. Loudest fan I’ve ever heard. There are power strips all over, barely any outlets in the room. This hotel was nice once but is not being maintained properly, very run down. I’d recommend staying somewhere else. I think others know this as the place was very empty.
I stayed at Hotel Ithaca for work related reasons. While there, the hotel was consistently clean, well maintained, and staff was friendly. The rooms and furniture were typical of a hotel in that price range. One thing I noticed, the pictures hanging in the room were of local nature sites and beautiful. I ordered room service from the on site resturant one evenin, and it arrived quickly and was delicious. The location was extremely convenient for walking to a variety of restaurants. I would stay here again when coming to Ithaca.
I don't like to leave bad reviews, but this hotel has very poor management and needs to improve their service a lot. During our stay on Thanksgiving, the pool was working, but it was so extremely cold that it wasn’t possible to use it. They had a heating system problem and didn’t know when it could be fixed. The lobby area is tiny, especially compared to the size of the hotel. It was cold in the lobby as well as in the pool area, but the worst part was that it smelled very bad — like mold or a rotten plumbing system. Our room was well-maintained and pretty clean, but the same light smell existed there as well… The hotel itself has 2 different buildings connected by a huge hall. One building is called South Tower, the other North Tower. We stayed in North, but no one at the front desk p
Positive: "" Negative: The room was small The pool was ice cold, couldn't swimThe hallway that the room cleaning staff where definitely smoking marijuana and the hall was full of the smell. They didn't care and only said that it is legal in NY state. I know it is but really.
