Argos Inn - Ithaca's Boutique Hotel

A must stay! For anyone looking to make their stay in Ithaca more memorable and feel like a truly unique experience, I highly recommend the Argos!! We found this Inn online, booked it for the approximately to the commons and walkability to where we wanted to be and were SO HAPPILY surprised by the unique, warm, inviting character of the place! We had espressos in the solarium, had a delicious cocktail in the lounge, played cards in one of the many cute nooks, wandered the building enjoying the unique decor, and felt very welcome! We had just as much fun staying in as we did going out! We will definitely return!

Argos Inn is a beautifully restored historic building in downtown Ithaca, just steps from the Commons and offering ample parking—a big plus in this area. Our room was adequately furnished with clean linens, bottled filtered water, a heated bathroom floor, a charming writing desk, elegant chairs, hair dryer, drawers, and hangers (though no closet).|The ground-floor bar was a pleasant surprise and a great spot to unwind after a busy day. However, the included breakfast was underwhelming—limited to coffee from a high-end machine, tea, biscotti, and oranges—so we opted to go out for a proper meal.|In my view, a warm smile goes a long way in hospitality, but this seemed to be missing here, as well as in much of Ithaca. Beautiful hotel which has been restored in an unique way with a high attention to detail. Very special vibe and nothing compared to the standard hotels. The rooms and beds are comfy as well although some of the rooms upstairs (above the bar) can perhaps be a bit noisy. We unfortunately had an issue with a reservation via booking.com and because of a disconnect between systeem there was no third bed in one of the rooms. It was taken care of by the staff but it gave us the feeling that we made the mistake. Could have been handled better imo. Still the hotel is great and can recommend staying here.

I recently stayed at the Argos Inn after traveling to Ithaca for a job interview. I wanted to be able to walk to the Commons and the interview location from my hotel and the location was excellent for both, and I found it helpful to just leave my car at the hotel parking lot the whole time. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and had offered to help carry my bags upstairs, which I didn't need but appreciated the offer. The bed was very comfortable and the room was perfect for my short trip. I really enjoyed the sunroom with water and coffee, it was a great spot to work for a couple of hours in the afternoon between check-out time and my interview. I stayed in one of the rooms above the bar and while it was noisy until 10:30p, I was working on interview prep so it was no problem

Favorite place to stay in Ithaca! The location is great for those without a car -- easy walk to and from the bus stops to NYC. I also loved the bar tenders. Cocktails are creative and the bar tenders always had an off-menu suggestion for whatever flavor profile I wanted to try. A must-stay if you're visiting Ithaca for the first time or coming back again.
