The Gardens Sonesta ES Suites New York

Positive: The kitchen! The space was enough for us to move around. Negative: no pool! ha ha.

Rooms are spacious and light, and clean. However, when I found out that dogs stay in the rooms, I asked for a room that had been animal free. Apparently the hotel do not keep a section of the hotel that has never had animals in, but I was assured that the rooms were thoroughly cleaned after a dog has been in there with its owner. I was a bit wary as I know many dog owners allow their dog to sleep on their bed with them, but I was led to believe quilts and everything were thoroughly cleaned! I stayed for almost a week, and by the end of my visit I had about 10 spots on my right thigh and leg, that were red and itchy. I saw a dermatologist when I returned to the UK, and she diagnosed the spots were flea bites!!! I have never had flea bites in my life. I think it is atrocious that you pay

I’ve stayed at this hotel at least five times when it was the Affinia. It has gone so far downhill it’s shocking. Yes if you are a large family and need a lot of room and cram everybody in it’s a good place for that as it is very spacious compared to other New York properties. If you are a business traveler or anybody that needs a competent room forget about it. The outlets don’t work and there are no hubs to plug in all your stuff, the TV isn’t a smart TV so you can’t even bring your streaming services with you, there are no amenities in the bathroom and if you ask for things they have to scrounge for them, there’s no salt or pepper in the kitchen, which was a given for any hotel that had a kitchenette, and there’s literally nothing except water and soda and chips available at the front d

My husband and family members stayed here due to a medical procedure. The front desk staff were always pleasant and helpful. The rooms were very clean. The furniture and beds were comfortable. We asked for extra pillows and blankets and they were delivered in a timely fashion. The lobby had a coffee machine which was always stocked well. A laundry room in the basement for guest. They also had an exercise room with adequate equipment. |We would definitely stay here again

This hotel is ideally located with access to all things NYC in mere moments. It's in a quieter neighborhood and near a lot of great lil' cafes, restaurants and shops. The hotel front desk employees are so kind, helpful and welcoming! The rooms are spacious and very, very clean. The decor is a little dated, but I'll take cleanliness, kind employees, and a perfect location any day! Would definitely stay here again.
