The Forge Motel

Do not be deterred by the appearance as you pull up to the main office. The outside siding may appear a little run down. We looked at a room before we made our decision. All rooms face the lake with a large picture window and all have an outside seating area with Adirondack chairs. We opened the door looking out to the lake and were greeted by a young spike buck just two steps away. The room was clean and comfortable and the view was pleasant. We did not make use of the indoor pool, but that seems like a bonus for travelers with children. The included breakfast is not substantial but has yogurt, juice, hot beverages, and individually wrapped bagels and donuts. Rooms on either side of ours had guests with large but well-behaved dogs. We never heard a sound from the pets. We would stay there

As you pull up to the main entrance, do not be deterred by the appearance of the exterior. If it seems slightly run down, do not pre-judge. All rooms face the lake, have a large window for viewing, and have an outdoor sitting area with Adirondack chairs. Do not be surprised to find a grazing spike buck two steps outside your door (as we did). The room is clean, comfortable, and safe. Rooms bordering our room included large dogs. We never heard barking or any annoyance. The included breakfast has yogurt, wrapped bagels and donuts, beverages, and toaster. We would stay there again.

Overall, it was an excellent stay! The staff was incredibly friendly, and the lodge itself was an amazing addition. For the first time ever, I’ve enjoyed the sheets in my room. We even organized a craft night and happy hour, and I saw several large groups celebrating birthdays and having card games. Conveniently located near everything was a plus. My only complaint was that the room could have had a few more amenities, and the floor was slightly dirty. However, honestly, considering all the positive aspects, that’s a minor issue that didn’t significantly impact my experience. The price was also great! I’ll definitely stay again if I find myself in the area again.

Rooms were clean and nice. The room had a microwave, refrigerator and a hair dryer. There were two sinks in the room one in the toilet/shower area and one immediately outside the area which I love as I can do my hair while my husband is in the shower. Breakfast is basic but there are breakfast places in walking distance including a good coffee shop. The location is great as you park you car at the hotel and walk everywhere. Staff was friendly as well. When booking asking for the renovated/remodeled part of the hotel. We were in room 50 and we had family in room 46.
