McCauley Mountain Ski Center

In the Winter months the mountain is a ski resort but during the Summer & Fall months you can do a 30-45 minute hike up it to a beautiful view! There's also lots of bike trails as well & for a fee they offer a chairlift ride to the top as an option. If you're in the Old Forge area I highly recommend this as a must see & do!

Even if you're afraid of heights, get on. The views are incredible. The pictures don't do it justice. There is a 20-25 minute loop that you can hike once at the top. Wear good walking shoes for it, as its a narrow trail with lots of roots and some incline/declines. The walk is fairly easy, we did it with kids. Its neat because you aren't likely to pass anyone else and its dense forest.

Great fall views on this very clear day. Easy 1 mile trail we enjoyed as well ! Will be back next year during peak leaf season.

This is a great mountain! Spent the day with my family and they had a good time snowboarding. No wait lines, lift ticket prices are very reasonable. The food available is the lodge is really good. Plenty of seats and a fire going. Perfect spot for a Winter day.

I’m extremely upset with how I was treated at McCauley Mountain. I fell while getting off the chair lift and was injured, and instead of showing any concern or offering help, the lift operator, Kris, yelled at me. Being shouted at right after getting hurt was shocking and completely unacceptable. This response showed a serious lack of professionalism and basic human decency. I left feeling embarrassed, unsafe, and unsupported. There are other local mountains where guest safety and respect are clearly taken more seriously. After this experience, I’d strongly suggest considering those options instead of McCauley until staff behavior and training improve.
