The Encinitan Hotel & Suites

Fabulous location and view Balconies with sliding doors that open! Well lit property, including the parking lot Great afternoon staff! I did not meet the morning staff Only cons are the traffic on Encinitas Boulevard can be hairy, the shower water pressure is horrible-plan on being in there twice as long-and no real breakfast. At least they offer a continental breakfast..better than nothing. Nice place!

Rooms: Big, spacious, with kitchenette. They have plates, cups and utensils. The rooms overall are okay but a little messy here and there. You can see cracks and holes and some dirt here and there. The door doesnt close right all the way. The AC makes a lot of noise. Love the TV and programs they have and they have a lot of movies to select. Service: To check-in the lady was so nice and accommodating. To check out the other lady had attitude. They have 1 washer and 1 dryer that require quarters but they can not provide them for you. And honestly out there is super hard to find quarters. Pool/Jacuzzi Dirty and cold. No towels. Breakfast: The breakfast area is by the pool. Indoor. Super clean and nice. With TV. View can not be beat. Rooms are spacious and well decorated. Older hotel with lots of charm but with modern updates. I love that is not carpet. Wood floors have been down now for about 4 yrs and look great. I stay ad often as I can

Highly recommend looking elsewhere for the price you pay. The breakfast was not great, however the space was very clean and it is free. The pool looked like it had not been cleaned in weeks. The rooms appear to be very neglected. I can tell this hotel was amazing at one point, but the condition was poor in our room and cleanliness was ok (tons of hair and dirt behind bathroom door, hairs in all the linens, etc…). Balconies were awesome! Evening staff was awful but the gal in the morning was very sweet. Told her about our broken tv and other issues and she was quick to acknowledge and apologize, but no compensation offered. When we went to check in, the evening staff was nowhere to be found. After about 5 minutes of waiting, I decided to go to the car and at least unload instead of stand

We arrived at the hotel and immediately were met with very weird energy. The person acted as if we were coming to ruin their day. Upon asking for my name for the reservation he mentioned we got a queen room. I said no we did not. He then said, I can assure you you did. We would not randomly change the room from a king to a queen. At the point of him acting as crazy as he was, I said just keep the room as is.||||I later confirmed on my booking that the room was supposed to be a king. This is not a hotels.com issue but a hotel staff issue. Also, he gave us the keys to the room and did not even bother to activate the keys.||||Again, had he been focused on customer service and not trying to prove an incorrect point, we would have had not only the correct room type but a working key.
