Leucadia Beach Inn

This little place is adorable. Don’t set your expectations too high and you will love it. The front desk was very helpful at check in and showed us around. We had a queen w small kitchenette. The location is a short drive from Encinitas. One very convenient amenity is a small grocery next to the inn. This made it easy to get what you needed for your stay. Many dining options close. This was a very basic room and while it had some nice touches, the mattress, linens and furniture were all average. The shower and bathroom had not been renovated in a long time. There was no place to plug in phone at nightstand and no plug in bathroom. Keep these things in mind if you stay and you will be good. I would stay again!

Leucadia Beach Inn is a retro style motor inn that has been updated to a modern chic type motor inn. The property could use another renovation but it might impact its charm.||Value per night is very good. Our room included a kitchenette, air conditioner and tv. Right on Hwy 101 the LBI is a few minutes from Grandview Surf Break or Moonlight Beach.||The mgr/front desk clerk, Mark was friendly and helpful with local info.||I recommend LBI for travelers looking for a local vibe. The inn is reminiscent of a Leucadia/Encinitas that has mostly been taken over by strangers and corporate money.

I just returned from a very enjoyable four night stay at the Inn, which is in a great location, walking distance to many places to eat/drink/shop. Mark was an accommodating host from start to finish. We had a very comfortable and CLEAN room that included a convenient kitchenette, and although we did not cook, we enjoyed preparing our breakfast in the room and eating in the pleasant courtyard, which was just a VERY short walk from our room, which was tucked away in the "new" wing of the building. The bed in our room was quite comfortable, although the pillow was too firm and tall for me, but of course that is just personal preference! Cute place to stay, close to friends and family whom I was visiting. The gentleman who checked me into the hotel was very nice and knew a lot about the area. The room was cute, functional, and clean. It was very quiet and relaxing. I would definitely stay there again if I'm back in the area.

Booked for 3 nights, checked out after one. Discerning travelers seeking to balance value and comfort will want to read my review. Those looking for a bargain price in Encinitas and are not sensitive to noise AND are (either) AT&T customers who do not care about reliable cell phone signal (or) who have T-Mobile (which I was told has service at the property) can likely proceed with booking. The small but adequate parking lot off PCH has 7 parking spaces offering immediate/easy access to rooms, which is a rare/nice feature for those traveling with lots of luggage and bring-alongs. Check-in was easy and went smoothly. The on-site manager, Mark, was not in the office when I arrived — a courteous "Be Right Back" sign was posted — but appeared within a few minutes.
