This hotel is fine, but it’s not a standout. The whole place has a safari theme, which feels a bit pretentious. The room was spacious, with a very comfortable king bed and great pillows - definitely the best part. The fridge was tiny, and the Keurig coffee maker worked fine, but nothing special. The bathroom was nice, but the shower had a slight problem - it kept spiking to boiling hot every 30 seconds or so. The front desk was a mixed bag - one person was friendly, but the card they gave me for the parking garage kept failing, so I had to go back repeatedly to get a new one. Parking garage is $28 a day, or $35 for valet in that same garage. There’s a vending machine in the basement with medical supplies, which is super convenient, but about five times the normal price. Overall, it wa

First I would like to note that all of the staff we dealt with at the hotel were perfectly friendly and helpful. This is not a reflection on them, rather it is a reflection on the management and pricing of this hotel. I DO NOT recommend the Davenport Tower if you are interested in getting a good value for the very large amount of money you have to spend. I spent nearly $800 for a 3-night stay and felt nickel and dimed at *literally* every turn. I had no other option as I was staying as part of a conference, but I wish I had stayed at a mid-rate corporate hotel chain. I will have to break this into categories:||Check in:|- We arrived several hours early, and asked if the room happened to be ready. Great news - they said it was ready! They then proceeded to tell us that we could check in ear

Positive: The hotel itself is beautiful and clean. The restaurant is excellent. We loved the pool, it is on the bottom floor so you can’t smell the chlorine throughout the hotel. Negative: No

Check in was a breeze. The room was clean, but a disappointment. They let us know that it was recently renovated, but I get the impression "renovated" didn't mean "ready." The fridge didn't work. The TV and/or remote didn't work. There was no toilet paper (though they brought it up quick!). The fireplace was a nice visual touch, but didn't seem to actually generate any heat. The washcloths were stained. There was still tape on the wall from the fresh paint. We were woken early to the footsteps of someone above us. The cherry on top was the shower running cold the next morning. The view was beautiful and almost redeeming, but not quite. The overall experience was underwhelming for the cost and we will not be back.

I believe some of the reviews are conflating this hotel with one of the 4 (?) other Davenports, all within a few blocks of each other. This one is the Tower, with 22 floors and the safari theme in the lobby. Hotel: Braxton at the front desk was great. Very professional. The hotel is clean and well-kept. It is not new but shows well and whimsically captures the patina of yesteryear. Every employee I saw looked professional and proud to work there, which I enjoy. Parking is not included! $35 for valet or $28/day for self-parking in the garage across the street. Breakfast also not included. That's $20+ from the restaurant. I did not ask for any incidentals or toiletries from the front desk, but I saw the 'toiletries & etc' vending machine near the pool. Nothing here is free or included. Bei
