The Dana on Mission Bay

It was our first time staying at the property. It was in a great location and close to pretty much everything. They had a nightly movie playing in the pool for the kids and we received two free drink tickets when we checked in. The rooms were clean and spacious. I only had two complaints. The first, was we stayed in a lower level room, the the people above us were pretty loud at 2am. I am not sure if it was just our room, but there seemed to not be a lot of insulation in the ceiling. I did call the front desk and they seemed to take care of it right away. The 2nd is the work out room. It seemed a little outdated. The water tank did not work and the weights and weight bench were pretty old. Other than that, it was a nice hotel and we would stay there again.

I do leave reviews, but usually after my stay. Unfortunately my experience at The Dana at Mission Bay has been frustrating enough that I’m writing this before my trip is even over. First, the rooms are extremely dated and honestly felt dirty. The tile in the walk in entry area had noticeable black spots, which immediately made the room feel unclean. The layout is also odd and uncomfortable. The sink is placed directly in the doorway area, which feels awkward and not very private. However, the worst part of this experience was the check in process. It was easily the worst hotel check in I have ever had. I was recently married and have just changed my name, so I do not yet have my new American Express card. My husband gave me his card to use since it is a joint account, but the staff refus

Positive: The location and room were amazing. Negative: There was little clarity about the resort charges for amineties i didn't use. There also were no options in room service for vegetarians.

We just stayed here for a week and it was awesome! Location is beautiful, on the bay and walking distance to Mission Beach and Belmont Park. The Dana has several pools and Jacuzzi’s. The Firefly restaurant bar was great, staff were wonderful. They have fire pits on the patio with service for happy hour that was amazing. Laundry services are available on site. You have to download a website and pay through the app but it was very easy. Only 1.75 a load. Our room was cleaned by Alicia, very sweet gal that left us decorated animal towels each day. We will definitely be back again soon.

It took 4 days to finally get service to our room. We saw everyone walking around with robes which was cute but they didn’t give us any as they were supposed to. It took two days once we found out to get them. Went to rent bikes the place was closed and they are not included.the pool bars never opened. They do not show the promised movie if it even sprinkled 5 hours prior. We ended up being a day late and they blames the 3rd party agency that we could change our reservation, but third party told us they were not willing. When you arrive you pay a resort fee that I was told pays for your free drinks. I would not go back here again.
