The Connally Hotel Downtown Atlanta, an Ascend Collection Hotel

I’m giving a 2 only because the staff is super nice. They are the only thing good about this hotel. It’s walkable to lots of places. You will have to pass a lot of junkies asking for money or talking to themselves in their reflections but that’s besides the point. The hotel itself seems to be a very old building. It’s super hot in the lobby while trying to check in.. then while we were there one of the only 2 elevators were broken so there was only one functional elevator so anytime you needed to go somewhere added an extra 10 minutes just waiting on the elevator. We finally got to our room and were hit with the immediate smell of mold and mildew. Disgusting. You can tell there had been a mold issue and they just painted over it. I stayed at this hotel from December 9 through December 28. The location is a strong point, it’s within walking distance of many shops and downtown attractions. However, the rooms are dated, and while the overall building cleanliness was acceptable, several operational issues significantly impacted my stay.||The WiFi was inconsistent and, at times, unavailable for days, which made completing work tasks difficult. Customer service at the front desk varied greatly depending on the staff member, and housekeeping practices were inconsistent, creating avoidable challenges. There also appeared to be a lack of communication between shifts, which resulted in multiple inconveniences throughout my stay.||This hotel may be suitable for a short stay of under a week if you want to be downtown, but the

We arrived later in the night due to traveling time and were checked into our room, once we were there and completely unpacked we realized our room had no hot water. We called the desk and was told we had to pack everything up and bring all our belongings to the front desk to be given another room, which we did, were issued a second room which also had no hot water, repeated the same thing again and once issued the 3rd room, (1 1/2 hours later), we were so tired we didn't even care, but this room also had no hot water. However; in this room the water did get slightly warm. The staff were phenomenal, hotel was clean and beds were comfortable. The area didn't feel very safe, but was walking distance to a lot of things.

This is one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. The rooms are in terrible condition and have a bad odor. My stay was 4 days and I didn’t receive any house keeping. Even by request, housekeeping was not sent. Our keys stopped working every night. The staff member who was sent up to assist had a very nasty attitude and didn’t communicate with us. We stayed on the 17th floor. When checking out, the elevators were down and we had to carry our luggage down 17 flights of stairs. There was only one functional elevator for the rest of the stay. The area where snacks and waters are sold was practically empty. There is no safe in the room. We had no tv service for the first night. And the internet service was out most of the stay. Do not stay here. The showers are not heated. There was old urine in the bathroom. One tv doesnt work and the other it totally shot. Entire picture is blue. The mattresses were likely bought in 1992. The valet caused between $1,000 to $2,500 of damage to my vehicle with 10,000 miles on it. I've attached photo proof of all other than the cold shower. I've stayed at Motel 6s' that were nicer than this hotel.
