The Charlotte Inn

What a delightful stay! We came to The Charlotte Inn following our wedding in December 1980. Our return to celebrate our 45th anniversary was perfect. Staff were accommodating and caring throughout our visit. The hosts were charming and engaging. Dining at The Terrace was spectacular. Service was impeccable and the food was delicious. We are planning our next visit!

We loved our stay at the Charlotte Inn! We stayed at the end of September and it was the perfect time to visit. The hospitality from the owners and communication from Jack at the front desk was some of the best I’ve experienced. We loved chatting to not only Jack but other staff around the property, including the Serbian girl who served us breakfast that I unfortunately did not catch her name. The attention to detail at the Charlotte Inn is incredible and is in the perfect spot to enjoy Edgartown to its fullest. The Terrace was closed during our stay so we did not get to eat dinner there, but Jack gave us many lovely recommendations around town. I am in awe of this hotel. The hospitality, the adorable dogs (shout out to Morgan and Bentley for making our stay extra special), and the fantastic ambiance. They made sure to make our stay feel the most special. The hotel is a true gem and the staff was wonderful. The Terrace was also an incredible experience. The food was delicious and we even got to drink and snack in the hotel’s garden late at night. Talk about romanticizing your life. We will never forget our first experience in Edgartown because of The Charlotte Inn.

A truly timeless experience. We spent two amazing days at The Charlotte Inn in Martha’s Vineyard as part of our honeymoon, and it was simply unforgettable. This place is something truly special — like it doesn’t exist anymore. The elegance, charm, and attention to detail throughout the property make it feel like stepping into another era. Every corner tells a story, and the atmosphere is warm, refined, and quietly luxurious. We visited during the fall, and the colors on the island added so much to the grandiose of the trip. It was peaceful, romantic, and felt like a perfectly preserved treasure. The Charlotte Inn is more than just a hotel — it’s an experience. We left feeling completely recharged, grateful, and already dreaming of coming back.

We went with another couple to celebrate their 25th anniversary and our 51st. This is an experience you will treasure and remember. The inn is composed of former mansions owned by whaling magnates that have been converted to luxury rooms. Everything is first rate, and you will come to know and appreciate the owners Gary and Paula who spend time talking with you about their inn, their art gallery, and the history of the Inn. I would recommend this to friends looking for an unique stay.
