The Castle Hotel

This review is for the Castle Hotel property and overall operation. We stayed in a penthouse unit in the building through Airbnb. The view from the unit was excellent, overlooking the bay and downtown Miami, with great sunsets. The pool area and beach access were also positives. Unfortunately, the hotel building itself is very outdated and visibly worn. It appears to have seen little renovation in decades, and there was a noticeable, unpleasant odor throughout the common areas. Overall, the property feels tired and poorly maintained. Safety was a concern during our stay. Elevator inspection notices appeared to be several years out of date. Whether that is common in the area or not, it does not inspire confidence, especially when traveling with family. The penthouse unit exposed additio

The rooms are outdated, the bathroom doors didnt close, the bath was disgusting as well as the fridge. The worst issue is the staff working here, unwilling to help, bored and rude, especially a latina girl with curly hair from the reception. If I were the manager here I would feel ashamed- you can manage an outdated hotel with lot of flaws but if you provide friendly and attentive service there is a huge diference. I put 2* only because of the gym which is brand new with a lot of machines and because of the lady in copy center who was the only one nice during our stay. Avoid this place.

It needs to be renovated badly. Smells, dark and gloomy. I felt sticky and dirty every time I walked in. They rent out old hotel rooms as Airbnbs. Ours in particular was just as rundown and beat up as the rest of the hotel. They did just renovated the pool and gym. But the pool just feels stale and boring. It does have access to the boardwalk and beach.

The front desk is useless except one or two employees. They have no will to either help or even do their job. Everytime you pass by the employees are always on phone unless you walk up to the desk. Such a beautiful place but it needs new team to bring some energy. The owners are always super slow on asking refills for the room. We got our shampoo, body wash and iron on the 3rd day, the day of checkout. Such a terrible experience!! Parking is another chapter of trouble here.

Good location by the beach has pool But over all place has been let go Beds are worn out badly Both beds in our room lay down and just roll right into the center See poor maintenance all over the room and building. Staff friendly but really interested in there phones from valet parking and all the way though Security gates all over Not very close to any restaurants or anything like that few inside but not many really no coffee anywhere besides a over priced mechine in the lobby Really place should be at 900 a week is more appropriate honestly Super dated place but that's fine if you keep up Money is obviously a struggle here! But I know if they choose better restaurants ect inside would help that aka also add more and use the space they are not using would offer way more
