Customer Reviews
The location of this hotel is on the edge of town near countless restaurants and a lovely park. The charming neighborhood surrounding the hotel is filled with pretty houses. The rooms themselves are spacious, well-equipped, and clean. All good except to my great frustration, the internet was not working. For the entire stay, there was no internet connection. The gracious woman at the front desk when I checked-in seemed to be the only employee on site. She did her best to trouble shoot the problem in between assisting other guests who were checking in. Beyond rebooting the modem or router there were no other options for restoring service. When I checked out in the morning, the equally helpful clerk said he was aware of the problem and that the manager would call me later in the day
The good: I appreciated the location and the nice old wood decor and layout to match the theme of a European inn. Nice spot for traveling with dogs as you can easily walk to restaurants with outdoor seating. Also the $25 flat dog fee is better than most places. At under $150, or under $175 including pet fee, this was a pleasant surprise, so 5 stars. The bad: The breakfast is barely edible. The coffee is bad and so are the coffee makers in the rooms. Also, front desk staff all acted like bored teenagers. If they upped their game a bit they could charge more, so maybe those things aren’t all bad.
Location is great. Room was cute, no desk but usable. Breakfast was average. Only stayed one night and mostly in and out. Driveways are steep. I parked on street since car is lower. Will return
This was a great hotel experience, very impressed with the room, cleanliness, staff, and esp breakfast! They served a GF bagel (single wrapped). The hotel is split into 4 very separate buildings in downtown Ashland, the location is nice, but finding my room was a little challenging since I arrived after dark.
The Bard’s Inn is in a wonderful location very close to Lithia Park and all restaurants. Love their pet friendly policy however, some of the rooms are quite outdated and have lamps that appear to have electrical shorts in them. Also, their breakfast for the price of the room is not good. Powdered eggs. They need to up the quality of the breakfast for sure.
