Shrews House Inn

New owner, Bruce Hall, has updated a wonderful place to stay in Ashland that's walking distance to downtown. This B&B currently has 4 rooms and all have separate entrances. The rooms are beautifully decorated. All include mini-fridge, microwave, coffee-maker, and even kitchenware. Bathrooms are spacious and include toiletries.||Besides serving a light continental breakfast in the main house, Bruce will fill you up with interesting stories from his many prior careers. He is a very friendly and hospitable host.||We go to Ashalnd regularly, for the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, and we will make this our 1st choice for places to stay.

My partner and I stayed at Shrew's B&B over Labor Day weekend. We were in the Ashland room, which was clean and had a comfortable bed. The room is next to the parking area and backs up to the alley and locals who may be walking outside the property. The door to this room is not inside the gated are entry to the property. So it is not secure in that way. On our first day, while sitting with our feet in the pool and visiting with other guests (couple) a strange woman who was clearly mentally ill entered the property from the alley and began harassing us. This occurred approximately 4-5 times and proceeded to throw items at us while in an increasingly agitated state. We informed the temporary hostess (who is not on site)and she arrived shortly after and contacted the police. It was unsettlin

Bruce is the most whimsical, wonderful BnB host. We were just planning to stay the evening and pass through Ashland, but he suggested we see Into the Woods at the Shakespeare Festival and turned an ordinary roadtrip stop into an unforgettable memory. He is a kind and gracious host and the Shrew’s House is a lovely place to stay. We’ll be back!

Not often I get moved to write a review. Great experience all together. Clean and comfortable room. Great location, walked into town and back a few times. Bruce is an amazing host who makes you feel like you’re staying with an old friend. Great to meet you Bruce!

What a nice surprise! Shrew’s House was so convenient, comfortable and charming and Bruce was a terrific host, with excellent suggestions on day trips during our stay and more. We had a wonderful time in Ashland and are so happy to have found Shrew’s House - will definitely stay again next visit!
