The Atrium Hotel on Third

The new room was nice and clean. Employees were friendly and helpful. We were unaware until we arrived that the lobby is closed due to renovations and you have to go through a side entrance. The pool is also closed due to the construction. Construction starts at 8am and you can view it from your window in your room.

This was an older but nice facility (formerly a Holiday Inn) which promised many amenities. Prominent on the hotel’s website was one of great interest to us – the “Manager’s Reception” which touted cocktails and food brought in from nearby restaurants like burgers, pork, steaks, and seafood. Upon check-in we asked the desk clerk about this and she knew absolutely nothing about it and said it wasn’t something they were doing. This was very disappointing since the hotel cost was fairly steep and we planned to offset the cost a bit with what sounded like complimentary food and drink. That wording has since been removed from their website.||Our room was spacious. There was a larger size mini fridge with freezer, microwave, and coffeemaker. I feel like this hotel has the potential to be 4 stars. I visited in the middle of a renovation so I can't give a super accurate review. What I can say is the staff was excellent during my 3 night stay and the space had a ton of potential. They did the best that could be expected with what they had available to them. I have no complaints.

We booked a small conference room for a monthly business meeting. We asked for catering services that the hotel also provided. Melissa is who we worked with. We were met outside with a greeting and assistance in carrying our items to the meeting room. The meeting room was set up with the catering prior to our arrival. Melissa stood at the entry greeting all of our staff that was attending the meeting and personally escorting them to the room. The food was wonderful. After the meeting was over we were asked by an employee if everything was to our satisfaction before cleanup began. If service is the key to success the atrium hotel in Quincy, IL is going to be very successful for years to come. Pool was closed, didn’t tell you before or at the time of check in. After they do tell you they do nothing about it said you already checked in and can not get a refund. The room was small and sheets dirty. The front desk was not very personable or seemed thrilled to be there. Halls and elevator smelled like weed, thankfully the room did not. Had to put a $500 deposit down which is unlike any hotel ever visited prior. I would not recommend.
