Surfside On The Lake Hotel & Suites

A representative of Surfside just called me screaming saying that because she hasn’t been able to get in touch with my husband, she’s done with this and his reservation is cancelled!! Apparently, she wanted a deposit, but never gave me the chance to give her one.She was very nasty and hung up on me. I called back several times to try to see if I can speak to a manager because you shouldn’t treat customers like that, especially ones who have been going to your business for years and she kept hanging up on me. Also, she would never give me her name or title there. I’ve never had a representative from any business call me up nasty, arguing and not letting me get a word in edgewise and then telling me my reservation is canceled! I hope the owner knows what’s going on there!

First, let me say we were so excited to stay at Surfside on the lake because they have their own private beach and then I CAN NOT recommend this hotel! First, let’s talk about the rooms. We had a room near the road, which is fine however, every time somebody ran a shower or flushed the toilet we heard it LOUD in our room. Our room had two queen beds, which were pushed up against the wall on either side, so one person could not get out of the queen size bed, which was ridiculous. I would rather have had two full size bed and had the option of getting out of either side of the bed. Next, the room walls are so thin. I could literally hear the people next-door to us their entire conversation so when I went down to ask for a different room the next day, the person in the front desk told me if

2nd summer at this hotel. Can’t beat the location and price. Private beach on the lake is what brings my family here every year. |This year we stayed in a different suite with water view. This hotel is older so some parts are new and modern while others can use a major glow up. The building we stayed in also houses the breakfast bar. The rooms, and the building itself, can definitely use a big refresh. The hallway of our building / staircase is pretty dirty with gross carpets and ick stair rails. |Our room was clean and perfectly fine, but could benefit from some enhancements like an updated bathroom or a layout refresh.|When you compare this hotel to the other others with a private beach, you just can’t beat it for the price.

My wife and I stayed here the week of Labor Day. We came in for the Adirondack Nationals car show and were here that Monday though Sunday. The room was probably the cleanest I've ever stayed in. The cleaning girls took great care of us the entire time. The private balcony with our room was awesome. Great weather to sit outside in the morning with coffee and breakfast. The grounds were very neat and well kept and the gals at the front desk were very pleasant, welcoming and helpful. I had a mobility scooter so I was able to buzz around the village easily, but very close to the center of town and well within walking distance of shops, restaurants and bars. All in all a great experience. Would recommend to anyone. We've already booked the same room again for next year! Keep up the great work!

Positive: Very clean and great location. Bed very comfortable. Negative: Web site stated the restaurant was open but it was closed. Coffee available but no creamer for the coffee.
