SureStay Plus by Best Western Bettendorf

We were tired and excited all at the same time to find a room with 3 beds for our family of 6. We pull in and the parking lot was almost completely empty. A bit suspicious. My husband gets our key cards and we head up to the room. Upon entering there is a musty smell. The room looked ok, other than a previous leak in the ceiling that had been previously patched. I pull the bedding back in one bed and find a hair that doesn’t belong to any of us. Bed #2 had a Vomit/Spit up stain when u pulled the bedding back. That was enough for me. We immediately grabbed all of our belongings and left. My husband requested a prompt refund and we went further down the road. I’m still disgusted to think about us blindly trusting and climbing into bed with the previous occupants hair and body fluids.

My family got a room here specifically for the hot tub...which was not working. I understand things happen, but it was covered over, so not like it was just down for cleaning. The room was fine, but the TV remote was broken. Update - breakfast is only served until 9, even on weekends. When I got to the breakfast area at 8:55 it was already mostly put away. The manager(?) did offer to make me something and was friendly. Overall, if you're looking for a cheap place to stay without any bells and whistles this is your place.

Positive: Nothing Negative: The hotel is out dated and needs much upgrading. The room smelled bad. There were stains on the walls. The smoke detector was hanging from the ceiling. Hair all over the pillows. Shower head coming out of the wall. Tub area looked disgusting.

Don't let the pictures for this place fool you. Our stay was a nightmare. The room we were assigned was not cleaned and had pubic hair all over the bathroom toilet and tub. We cleaned it for them since the place had no nighttime cleaning crew. The sheets were soiled, so we had to make the bed with clean sheets supplied by the front desk. There were several other issues. But the worst was when the hotel without authorization took back the refund given to us for our inconveniences as well as took back our BW points used for the stay. The service level was so bad and then come to find out that the company lied about the take back of the refund. This place of business gets a NO Star rating. This hotel was filthy. I requested Clorox wipes to clean, the manager, had none, instead he gave me inch size disinfectant wipes. I used to try to clean the remote, headboard, tv channel guide, counter top, and heater. They were all filthy. The TV didn’t work either. We went to the manager and he said we’d receive a refund. We left, as we were leaving, we noticed the outside light was flickering. This place should have been reported to the Iowa Department of Health Services for being unsanitary and unsafe. If you are used to the customary standards of a BestWestern , as we were, DO NOT stay here, you will be unsettled on the hotel conditions. Dirty at best. We didn’t realize Sure Stay is an offshoot of the BW, the standards are sub standard at best. It’s more like a hotel 6. The manager to
