Super 8 by Wyndham Victoria / South / Hwy 59

My recent stay at Super 8 South Victoria was adequate, but it fell short in several key areas that impacted comfort and cleanliness. Upon arrival, I encountered a significant ant issue—hundreds of ants—which required me to purchase insect and cleaning supplies just to feel comfortable staying in the room. There were also visible holes in the walls, broken drawers, and overall cleanliness concerns that made it difficult to fully trust the condition of the space. The bed was moderately comfortable, though not enough to offset the other issues. This property appears to cater primarily to oil field workers, which is understandable; however, the general upkeep reflects more of long-term workforce lodging rather than typical leisure or business accommodations. Very friendly and welcoming front desk service. Room was very clean and had the usual complementary necessities(shampoo, conditioner, body bar and blow dryer) Coffee maker and coffee available in room. Will definitely stay again.

Positive: The fact that I could leave because the owner Sam was so rude. Negative: The owner put us in two of the dirtiest rooms available, I cleaned my own room upon arrival at the US HWY 59 in Victoria TX. The fridge was leaking, the toilet was clogged, the floors were dirty, the whole room was just dusty all around.

I was skeptical about it because the night before we checked in we stayed at a Super 8 in Beaumont, Tx and it was not a good place. But when we checked at this location, front desk/manager was very nice. We got a kitchenette suite...when I tell u I was amazed of how clean and nice the room was when we walked in. The bed is so comfortable and clean, the refrigerator was clean and nice size (mid-sized). The cleaning crew are very nice and very helpful. They have a washer and dryer(pay as needed), vending machines and an area to BBQ with a covered sitting area with lights. They have breakfast options in the mornings. Its by an interstate but still not hard to get places around the area. Would recommend and come back if I had to be in the area.

Clean hotel, great if you like trains and automobiles. Train blows the horn every 2 hrs at night, so bring some earplugs. Other than that its ok. Only 2 stars for location near the train tracks.
