Super 8 by Wyndham Helen

Horrible place, everything was absolutely filthy. We had to ask for a vacuum cleaner to clean the room ourselves. The bathroom was full of hair and dust, the sheets were stained, the floors were dirty, and the towels were filthy. The service was terrible, the worst customer service ever. When we went to complain about the cleanliness (along with people from 6 other rooms), they gave us a vacuum cleaner so we could clean it ourselves—ridiculous! And the breakfast was absolutely disgusting. Please, don't go there!

Upon arriving to the property, we were greeted with an individual that was completely indifferent to her position. When we arrived in the room it smelled strongly of cleaner. We had to leave the door open to even be able to breathe. When attempting to use the restroom we found that the toilet seat was broken but placed together as if it was not broken. When the front desk was called she assured me she would have the maintenance person there immediately. I informed her we were going to eat in town and she said she would have him go on in and fix it. 2.5 hours later upon returning the seat had not been fixed. I called the front desk but no answer so I walked down. She was on her cell phone talking about rats returning to the hotel. She then had no concern at the fact no one had fixed the toi

We really enjoyed this hotel. We looked at reviews before we made reservations and saw from current pictures that it was renovated with wood floors, etc. The room was nice with comfortable beds, clean linens and comforters and good pillows. The towels were clean and ample for the two of us and the vanity and bathroom/shower were clean. The shower had great water pressure and plenty of hot water. The AC unit was relatively quiet and cooled the room well and modulated the temp very well for our 4 day stay. Breakfast had scrambled eggs and sausage some mornings, which was a very nice addition to their other options. The pancake maker was down a few days but was fixed for the other two days. Nice hot, tasty pancakes! We enjoyed the bowl sized portion of prepackaged cereal and the fresh cartons

Horrible experience. Awoken at 2:30am by a loud, aggressive, deranged and inebriated man banging on my hotel door demanding to get in. Hotel staff was unreachable. Managed to diffuse the situation temporarily when the intruder decided to sleep outside our room up against the door. He woke up about an hour later and began banging on the door again. Obscenities and threats kept flying from his mouth. I finally got a hold of the front desk and the lady wasn’t helpful. She basically sided with the intruder and at one point asked if he could just come in. I called the cops. They came out and arrested the guy. I requested a refund from Expedia and they haven’t been able to get in touch with the Super 8. This situation could have ended in violence. The trauma it has caused my young son is extreme
