Super 8 by Wyndham Bemidji MN

I recently stayed here for a short work trip. Great stay! The staff were incredibly friendly and provided excellent customer service from check-in to check-out. The location is perfect close to the airport and surrounded by shops and restaurants. Very convenient and comfortable overall. I would definitely stay here again!

First room we got in, the door knob fell off and we couldn’t get out (major safety concern). It also smelled badly of some kind of cooking or food. The next room they gave us, there was a bottle of mayo in the fridge that had gone rotten and as you can imagine, the fridge smelled horrible. The TV didn’t work. Come to find out, (by my exploring) all of the appliances were attached to a power strip that was not plugged in. Also, my key card didn’t work after we went to supper, so first I rang the 2 doorbell things at the empty front desk to get some help. Finally started to try the phone they have set up for that purpose. Long story short, they didn’t answer the doorbell or phone for 20 minutes. Dirty, stained lobby carpet. Shower tub drain clogged so that the water was at each of our ankles after we each took a normal shower. It took 10 minutes for the tub to drain each time. Air conditioner was so noisy we had to shut it off during the night. Some of the vent on the air conditioner was broken. We opted to have breakfast elsewhere after our night there. I see these same issues with other reviews and wonder why they havent been fixed yet. The young man at the desk was very friendly. The cost was fair for this motel.

Positive: Rooms were clean. Front desk staff friendly Negative: This happened once before here as well. They knock at 9:30 saying "housekeeping". I let them know I am still in the room. 10:30 comes around. Same thing.. Check out time is 11am. It feels rude to have people bugging me more than once in the morning.

I used to love staying at this hotel but it sure has gone downhill over the last year. When I checked in they had snow drifts near the front entrance . They removed their vending machines wich is totally inconvenient. Everytime you step outside you have to prop open the side doors with a rock and hope nobody removes it or you got to walk all the way around and enter through the front because none of the outside key readers work and they literally have 15-20 Walmart shopping carts just scattered around the property. Take a little pride in maintaining your property
