Super 8 by Wyndham Baxter/Brainerd Area

When we checked in. The late night young lady was extremely nice. The room was cute and clean. When we turned on the heater, there was a bit of a funky smell but it did slowly go away. The morning staff was just as sweet as the late night staff. If I need a hotel stay again. I will definitely be returning! Thanks Super 8!

I instantly noticed a strong musty odor when I walked into the room. It smelled like mold and the space felt dirty and poorly maintained. It was very unsettling. It’s upsetting to think guests are being placed in rooms that feel this neglected. Based on my experience, I would not recommend booking here. They don't offer any refunds after booking, so please keep that in mind and avoid making any rushed decisions.

We should have cancelled and left instead of staying overnight. There was a strong smoky odor coming through the bathroom vent. Don’t know if it was cigarettes or pot. Don’t walk in socks or barefoot—-my white socks got dirty black from walking on the carpet. All outside doors are rigged so you don’t need cards to enter. Bathroom fan don’t work. It was our worst experience ever.

Positive: Small, quiet, close to our choices. Negative: The desk was often not attended ( ok cost savings) and the breakfast could be improved. Will stay again next year.

DO NOT COME TO THIS HOTEL. My son had a tournament in Brainerd. The price was raised from 52 dollars to 150!!! We were expecting something good for 150 but this place is HORRIBLE. Ther rooms are dirty, crazy dusty and outdated. The hallway looked like it's from a 1900s apartment and smelled horrible. The showers smell was even worse. The price doesn't match with anything here. The only good part is the placement which is close to a lot of stuff. PLEASE if you are coming to Brainerd especially if your kid has a tournament here do not book a stay in this hotel.
