Super 8 by Wyndham Amarillo Central TX

For a budget traveler that just needed a place to shower and sleep it was perfect. The bed linens were clean, the room didn't smell, the room temperature was fine, the conditioner wasn't loud and distracting like Ive heard at even expensive places, and the wifi worked. I was traveling during a storm which took out the cable but the lights were still on, so I say thats a win. The beds were small. The free breakfast was perfect for the rate. waffle maker, cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, toast, muffins, coffee, hot water, a juice. Lightly staffed but smiled and did their job. Now bathroom, I have issues with older showers, but im sure they were clearned and only look dirty because of their age. We only got a small soap and small shampoo bottle, wont be a problem if you have your own stuff. There's

Stayed here for a free night with my Wyndham rewards, on 11/9. Met the owner, Mrs. Bhumika Desai-Patel. Super friendly nice lady that is business oriented and has an engaging personality. Got room #124. Standard amenities were available and whatever I used, worked. Room was clean and comfortable. Had a quiet evening and slept well. Breakfast was simple, but satisfactory. Angela from housekeeping and Mrs. Desai explained that the washer and dryer got a lot of use and I could tell its had it better days, but was able to complete my laundry. The hotel isn’t fancy, but I was content with my visit. Considering their competition in the area and noticing that a couple of competitors nearby had failed, this Super 8 continues to hold its own. I wish them well.

The rooms look nice, appear clean, and smell nice. The staff is very friendly and helpful. But they are in desperate need of an exterminator. I make a trip through the panhandle a couple times a year and I always stay at budget motels. I've stayed at a lot of lower end motels in this area, but this is the first one where I've had multiple roaches in my room. If it hadn't been so late when I got in I'd have asked for a refund and went somewhere else. I spotted multiple roaches and when I rolled over at 5am to check the time, even spotted one scurrying across the bed in the light from my phone. That was it. I just got up and left at that point. You have to be diligent with pest control in Texas. You NEED your exterminator to come REGULARLY and OFTEN. There should be roach pest control mea
