Sunflower Hideaway BnB

We had the pleasure of meeting Mrs. Moon on very short notice. I was very thankful for her to share her place and the warmth from her personality to the actual warmth of her home. We would definitely stay here again in the future. The area was quiet and a short drive to conveniences. We were more than appreciative of her, especially with such sort notice. The detail in notes and care of the property around and availability of kayaking is mind blowingly amazing! The setup allows you to see all the assortment of birds and other wildlife, fishing, and community are so welcoming. This is definitely an experience❣️❣️❣️

Stayed during a quick work trip and couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. It was quiet, relaxing and peaceful. Bill and Marsha were excellent hosts! Highly recommend.

A cozy location in the East Texas wood lands, just a quick paddle away from the Toledo Bend Reservoir. The owners are very friendly, and we did not miss for anything during our stay. A canoe and couple kayaks are available for a reasonable fee. The location may present issues with cellular service reception (depending on one's service provider), but if you are looking for a couple days away from the grid, this isn't a bad thing. The nearby town of Hemp Hill has limited dining options, but does have a grocery store. Those with interests in space and science should check out the Patricia Huffman Smith NASA Museum, as this very area is where portions of the Columbia came down. The museum is not large, but for its mission, it is the right size and is well worth a stop.

This was our first bed and breakfast. It was above any of our expectations. We were first greeted with this amazing welcoming sign ( which I have included in the pictures). We were brought on a tour and made to feel welcomed. They went above and beyond and had egg muffins, watermelon, and cookies(homemade) with his birthday number. We caught 24 fish. They have kayaks to rent. It was a quiet, peaceful, tranquil piece of paradise. If you are looking for an exceptional host and a private getaway look no further. Sunflower hideaway is your slice of Toledo Bend paradise.
